Glen Powell Details Awkward Encounter With “Recently Canceled” Celeb | E! News

was like, “This guy, his face is toxic.” Glenn Powell details his awkward encounter with who he calls a recently cancelled celebrity. The actor shares insight into a cringy encounter with another star who seemed to be a walking red flag. He tells the tale on the September 25th episode of Jake Shane’s Therapist podcast. I was at a party and there was somebody that had basically been on the ropes in terms of sort of getting cancelled and there’s like you know it’s kind of a big public it was one of those Hollywood parties where it’s like there are cameras and press and all that stuff and this person had made a lot of some of my favorite movies and I was like oh like this is this is great like and he came up and he said nice to meet you such I was oh dude big fan while chatting with the star whose name he does not reveal a photographer had asked if the pair could take a picture together but then Glenn got cold feet this person was recently cancelled and was like it was it was like not good. I was a fan of their work but not a fan of their their choices, right? Uh so I was just kind of being nice but then when you you’re they’re want to take a picture with you. I realized very quickly how like I was like oo I don’t know if this is a good idea. He clearly clocked that I was like this is probably not a good idea. And I realized I was like, “This guy, his face is toxic, you know, like going out into the world, like people are having a visceral reaction to this person in terms of the the bad choices they’ve made.” Glenn compared the actor to his complicated Chad P character, Russ Holiday, who after disgracing himself at a championship football game, plays for another team under a new alias to redeem his legacy. This is insane. Oh my goodness. Georgia’s picked the ball up. Georgia is going to the championship. What was Holiday thinking? It’s time for you to move on. There’s just one problem, Dad. I’m not done with football. Chad Powers premieres September 30th on Hulu. [Music]

    1. Celebrity’s are so spineless these days just say something why even go on a podcast tho these pusses need to grow a pair and stop enabling bad behaviour for elites

    2. This has to be Ryan Reynolds. This can’t be James Franco, because Franco wasn’t recently canceled. And I doubt it’s Kevin Spacey or Armie Hammer because they’re permanently canceled and so it’s unlikely they’d even get an invite to that kind of exclusive party. Ryan is the only one who still gets invited to celebrity functions of that caliber even though a lot of people hate hin

    3. I get it if it’s Kevin Soacey style of cancelled, but if we’re talking ‘Tim Allen’ political views type of cancelled, then Glen needs to grow a pair.

    4. This guy is pathetic. I guess his publicist will need to work overtime scouting out rooms so fabulous Glen Powell doesn't get photographed with anyone unworthy, Heaven forbid. Their "toxicity" may cling to him and, poor dear, he wouldn't know what to do. God gave him looks, money, and a showy career but no brains or strength of character. Hollywood, ego obsessed doormat.

    5. Guess you now no if the going gets tough, ole Glen Powell can't take off quick enough from your side. I thought some people, just like him, were friends and learned that other's opinions were how they made decisions in life. Terrible type of a "friend" to get stuck with – shout out to Sheryl Sheffield Price.

    6. I feel sooooo bad for Glen Powell. If only he had a crystal ball so he could know who was acceptable to hang out and what was acceptable to support so he doesn't make any bad decisions and be seen with the wrong kind of people. Otherwise he might not get to keep earning millions of dollars and enjoy the good life. Yes, poor, poor Glen. Such a complicated life.
