After being convicted on two prostitution related offenses, but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges in his sex trafficking case, a federal judge has sentenced the bad boy records founder to 50 months in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release. He must also pay a fine of $500,000. Combmes also has a right to appeal the sentence. 55-year-old Combmes had previously pleaded not guilty to all five charges. two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, as well as one count of racketeering conspiracy, and had initially faced a possible maximum sentence of life in prison. During the 7-week long trial that took place earlier this year, prosecutors argued Combmes had coerced women to take part in freakoffs, which were drugfueled sexual performances with sex workers. The defense countered that such encounters were consensual. One of the alleged victims was his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who dated Combmes on and off between 2007 and 2018 and served as one of the prosecution’s key witnesses. During her testimony, the singer shared how Combmes allegedly controlled all aspects of her life, including instructing her to take part in hundreds of freakoffs. In total, prosecutors called 34 witnesses to the stand, including some of Comb’s former employees, male escorts, federal agents, and a former girlfriend who testified under the pseudonym Jane. Jane, who dated the music mogul for three years until 2024, testified about the nature of her experience with Combmes over the course of six days, alleging that their dynamic made it difficult for her to end their relationship. Before the court date, he penned a letter to the judge in his case in which he addressed surveillance footage from 2016 that showed him assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway.
