Is there a Taylor Swift song about Blake Lively? Fans debate ‘Ruin the Friendship’ vs. ‘Cancelled!’
Are things Gucci between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively? Or is there still bad blood? Two tracks off Taylor’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, have fans reading between the lines. Taylor and Blake’s friendship reportedly fractured after the singer was dragged into the ongoing legal battle between Blake and her former co-star Justin Baldon. So, which song is about Blake? Let’s break it down. Based off the title alone, Ruin the Friendship seems to be about their alleged rift, but the lyrics appear to be about a male friend that Taylor had a crush on. She sings, “And it was not an invitation. Should have kissed you anyway, and it was not convenient, but your girlfriend was away. Should have kissed you anyway.” Fans now think the 10th track, Cancelled, is about the Gossip Girl star with lyrics like, “Did you Girl Boss Too Close to the Sun?” and this moody chorus. [Music] The Gucci mention seems to be a direct reference to the actress who is the face of Gucci’s fragrance Gucci premiere in 2012. Swifties tweeted their theories with many believing Taylor is now coming to Blake’s defense. Taylor Swift saying everyone who said she had to drop Blake Lively and cancelled basically being a defender song. Taylor said you to all the Blake Lively haters and cancelled. Oh, don’t cry Tik Tok Swifties that only believe men. Despite this, Taylor Swift may still be forced to sit for a deposition. Blake has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment over their film It Ends With Us, and he and his team of an alleged smear campaign. In a since thrown out $500 million defamation suit, Doc showed Blake referred to Taylor and her husband Ryan Reynolds as her dragons, an apparent reference to Khesi from Game of Thrones. The saga has tarnished the public image of Blake Lively. But based on the life of a showgirl, it seems Taylor is still on her side. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Normal people are bored to tears with this nonsense!!!
Lol, how much di/Reynold's pr team pay you for this bs!?
Could Blake be a liar and Taylor still be her friend… yes! Both things could be true. Don’t have to like Justin to think he has better receipts and is more on the side of truth. I don’t blame Blake! She kind was brought into this by Stephanie Jones who baited her into this by insisting they were talking trash. Her PR team never pivoted when people were criticizing the way she promoted a domestic violence movie. There is nothing floral about DV.
Too bad the whole album was written more than a year before the whole legal drama between Lively and Baldoni unfolded and therefore doesn't fit your curated narrative about the song!
Just because she changes a gender or something like that does not mean that it wasn’t about Blake lively. She cannot make the songs specific because otherwise the star she is singing about will lawyer up and sue her. So she’s gotta leave it extremely vague so she can’t get sued lol
I’m sorry there’s no way that you can listen to the song canceled and think that she was defending Blake lively. She was obviously ripping her apart and she was talking about how she has a bad habit of picking all of these friends who turn on her and end up being canceled. She wasn’t defending anybody.
They are still friends… Would you turn your back on your friend because influencers on YouTube tried to cancel them. Umm No
I believe people read to much into this type of stuff yes I am sure with as busy as both these women have been recently with all they got going on with law suits an keep an albums plus the fact that everyone wants to be Taylor friend you can't please everyone so Friends take a break from each other all the time an like The saying goes Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer an I believe Taylor is just focusing on herself an what's best for her keep out of others business an like they say you can't please everyone so you might as well just please yourself an she is doing a awesome job at it an helping so many who does not appreciate her or deserve it
No! None of the sings are about Blake! Taylor Swift in many interviews yesterday said 1. She wrote them whole on her Eras tour which was March 2023 to Oct.2024. She wrote alone of them in Sweden which between there and London were her home base while on Eras tour. She said she would fly home from Sweden to wherever Kelce was and Palau him ‘the album’ meaning it was already an album. Taylor also said it takes a whole year to bring a fully created album from creation (finished) to publication. All you have to do is listen to Taylor’s interviews, the songs were already completed before Blake launched her lawsuit in Dec 2024 so, they were already completed before we all (and Taylor) found out a lake was using Taylor amd throwing her name around. Theres zero chance that any song is about Blake.
There are several songs on this album that are just a little too close to other people's music…
" Life of a show girl" is a rip off of the Jonas Brothers "Cool"
"Wood" is a rip-off of the Jackson 5's
"I want you back"
"Ruin the friendship" The beginning of that song is a rip-off of Lenny Kravitz.
"It ain't over till it's over"
Page six / YouTube are you deleting free speech?? You’re asking for a lawsuit. I’m ss this btw. My deleted comment :
Women like BL reverse instead of catapulting equality for women. All women with sons should familiarize themselves with this case.
Taylor speaks of wisdom yet has none in the motherhood department. If and when she becomes a mom boy might she take the reason for BL’s cancellation seriously.
It’s all about Blake no Travis
Taylor Swift has been 16 when I was 16. She Acts like she is 16
