“I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” Freida Parton said in a Facebook post shared late Tuesday night. “She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
In a separate Facebook post earlier on Tuesday, Freida said he had “been all night praying for my sister, Dolly, adding, “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
A representative for Dolly told Las Vegas Review-Journal that the singer is fine and merely waiting for a procedure to address kidney stones. The 79-year-old musician is even well enough to record a music video on Wednesday, he representative added.

Meh, sure she shouldve added more context but i dont think she over sold the situation at all. My grandma was 3 years younger than Dolly and pretty damn healthy herself and then what started as a minor uti ended up taking her out, what may seem like manageable health concerns when youre younger can oft end up being fatal as you age.

Maybe this is more reflective of my extended family than anything else, but I read that she “felt called upon” to ask for prayers or whatever and immediately rolled my eyes. Sending my thoughts and prayers to that sister instead.

My mom almost died because no one caught her kidney stones that she had for at least a year. She lost a kidney because of it and was on her way to losing the second too if a different doctor didn’t catch it.

This is like when my mom texts me “call me” and I think someone died but it turns out she just saw my childhood best friend’s mom at the grocery store.
It’s a shame that Dolly doesn’t ride roller coasters, especially because she has her own park full of them. It sounds crazy, but it’s been scientifically proven that rough coasters can break up and dislodge kidney stones.
