A body language expert has weighed in on Kate Middleton’s demeanor during a recent outing where the Princess of Wales appeared to ‘look at her happiest’ amongst children
Kate Middleton “looks her happiest” as she lets go of “elegant royal” demeanor
Kate Middleton appeared to be “her happiest” during her most recent outing.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, the Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to a Home-Start Oxford, which provides support to parents facing several challenges. During her time at the non-profit organization, she joined youngsters while they relished in arts and crafts.
During the stay and play session, Kate was all smiles, leaving body language expert Judi James to weigh in on the sudden change in demeanor just after issuing an urgent warning on family life. According to the professional, the princess appeared to be there to let loose, “specifically there to play.”

Judi started, “Kate probably looks at her happiest immersed in play sessions with young children.

“Despite her immaculate styling, she bends right down to their level here to create rapport and to boost their confidence by showing undivided attention,” she added.
Not only did the princess’ lowering gesture show her openness but so did her “exaggerated facial expressions,” which is an “effective mood guide for them.”
“Her wide-open mouth expressions shows an almost childlike sense of wonder and excitement and it motivates the children to respond in kind, both mirroring her and laughing and relaxing with her as she pulls them into the fun,” the expert explained.
Judi believes Kate’s behavior was very different than her usual attitude.
“Kate acts less like an elegant royal on a visit and more like someone who is specifically there to play and to communicate to the children in an unhurried way,” she concludes. “It’s a very special way of communicating with children and reflects the way she has her own three at home.”
During an interview with Town & Country, she said her passion is “learning about how babies’ brains develop and how our early childhood influences the adult brain.”

Kate officially joined the British royal family on April 29, 2011, when she married Prince William at Westminster Abbey.
She didn’t have her first child, Prince George, until two years later. Over the following five years, she welcomed her other two kids, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
In 2022, Kate admitted visits to childcare facilities often makes her want to have another.
“It makes me very broody,” she confessed.
While the princess might enjoy her outings involving youngsters, it doesn’t give her husband the same satisfaction.
“William always worries about me meeting under one-year-olds. I come home saying ‘let’s have another one,’” she revealed.
Kate once told a fan, “I don’t think William wants any more.”
Based on a comment he made in 2019, this could be true. During a visit to Lancashire, England, the princess held a baby girl, causing William to joke, “Don’t give my wife any more ideas!”
