Diddy Says He “Lost His Mind” During Cassie Assault in Written Apology | E! News

Shaun Diddy Combmes is speaking out on his relationship with ex Cassie Ventura. After being convicted on two prostitution related offenses, but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges in his sex trafficking case, the music mogul is getting ready to hear his fate. Combmes is due to be sentenced October 3rd. And before the court date, he penned a letter to the judge in his case in which he addressed surveillance footage from 2016 that showed him assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway. The rapper wrote in a letter to US District Judge Aaron Subbermanian obtained by NBC News October 2nd, “The scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I’m sorry for that and always will be.” He continues, “My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry. The remorse, the sorrow, the regret, the disappointment, the shame.” Combmes, who is dad to three sons and four daughters, also notes that being a father made his actions harder to accept, writing, “I honestly feel sorry for something that I couldn’t forgive someone else for if they put their hands on one of my daughters. This is why it is so hard for me to forgive myself. It’s like a deep wound that leaves an ugly scar.” E-News has reached out to Ventur’s rep for comment, but has not heard back. During Comb’s trial earlier this year, Cassie was a key witness for the prosecution, testifying about her decadel long relationship with the star. The two officially ended their on andoff romance in 2018. Earlier this week, Judge Submanian, who presided over Comb’s trial, denied a request by the rapper’s defense team for an acquitt and a new trial, noting that the government at trial presented overwhelming evidence of Comb’s guilt under the man act on many occasions with respect to Ventura and another ex who only went by Jane per a ruling obtained by Deadline. The ruling continued. That evidence consisted of testimony from Ventura and Jane, testimony from the escorts involved, and evidence from text messages and emails. The government proved its case many times over. [Music]

    1. 🤔Probably, genuinely honest about one's own mental health here…😅So, perhaps lacking empathy and self-awareness, this is a last ditch attempt to 'explain' the symptoms only. Generally speaking, an adult, with the capacity to 'lose their minds', every other hour, through their waking hours…I guess that would be a nightmare/daymare for others to navigate around safely 🤨

    2. His not sorry at all
      His done
      His history

His not a good person at all

    3. They need to make an example of this garbage. He promoted this kind of misogynistic behaviour towards women. Show the hip hop culture world that this is not cool anymore. Not cool at all.

    4. I know this trail & sentence was and is based on Cassie testimony and other that was in trail case, BUT!!! What about all the other's claims from victims stories that they have openly talked about with conviction from their soul's. All these people couldn't be lying. What really bothers me is all the brutal rapes people claim he did to them are disgusting & a whole lot more! His crimes went on for decades without being noticed or reported. It's time for him to pay the consequences for his actions .

    5. Why didn't his 'geniuses' high paid attorney team have him to write this 'sincere letter of apology' way before learning of the prosecution was asking for a minimum of 11 yrs?? I hope Judge Arun is able to see directly through this 11th hr attempt of desperation cooked up by his wannabe dream team.

    6. If ONLY he could say he lost his way, but has now found JESUS!
      His spirit needs an overhaul!
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17!

    7. “And don't tell me you're sorry 'cause you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught
But you put on quite a show
      You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
      Curtain's finally closin'
      That was quite a show
      Very entertaining
      But it's over now
Go on and take a bow
Oh, and the award for the best liar
      Goes to you….”
