See Diane Keaton’s Last Public Outings Before Death

Diane Katon spent her final months out of the public eye. The Annie Hall actress has died in California, a family spokesperson confirmed to People October 11th she was 79. Katon hadn’t been publicly seen in nearly a year before her passing. In fact, her last public appearances were holiday shopping last Christmas and stepping out for errands in August 2024. At the time, Katon was dressed in her signature bowl hat and glasses, completing her casual look with boxy gray trousers, a black turtleneck, and a dark blazer. She appeared to be in good spirits, smiling and waving at onlookers while shopping in Los Angeles. But even that was a rare sighting for the Oscar winner. Prior to her day out in LA, Katon was seen the year before at the 2023 US Open Tennis Championships, cheering in the stands during the final game in New York City alongside actress Ariana Deose. But that’s not to say that she left Hollywood behind. At the time of her passing, Katon had three projects in the works. Artist in Residence with Josh Hutcherson, The Making of with Blake Lively, and Constants directed by Mark Pellington.
