It does seem conservative with all the “thank goodness a man saved from being single aka dying” and “all I want is to get married and have babies” and “I love being rich” and “other women are ‘bitches’” and “I like people who get backlash online” and “I’m the real victim even though I’m a billionaire” and “I’m not like black women” and whatnot

>It’s much like our present political landscape, he went on. It’s easy to critique the credibility and truthfulness of right-wing arguments, but the right don’t care. They still get votes whether you think they’re telling the truth or not. The left has taken too long to catch up and still can’t go toe-to-toe. It’s why offering rigorous critique of this album feels like a [Joe.com](http://Joe.com) video entitled “Ian Hislop eviscerates Nigel Farage”. Obviously, he can do that. Anyone could. But who is listening that doesn’t already agree?
>We always win on our terms, but Swift’s team aren’t playing that game anymore. They’re treating music as customer relationship management, cultivating brand loyalty and creating a guaranteed customer base. Nothing would change the mind of a diehard Swiftie because all they want is ‘something’. Their relationship with her has become a content one, not an artistic one.
This is an *excellent* article.

She’s so unbelievably boring and I wish we didn’t have to hear so much about her.
I will say though – I don’t find her to be obviously “conservative”. To me she is the perfect example of why being a liberal feminist has always been meant as a derogatory designation. It’s a centrist and tokenistic form of feminism that upholds a corrupt and broken system. A very “my gay hairdresser is so fabulous and fun and I vote Democrats once every four years! And I think women can win at capitalism too! I’m totally progressive!” while rarely examining their privilege or biases or even considering systemic change.
The impulse to label these as MAGA traits lets centrist liberals avoid cleaning up their own house.

I think Taylor thought she was creating an album that was cheeky, fun and sexually confident at some points like what Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan and so many other female artists were serving. Instead we got more about how she’s a victim, weird racial undertones, a poorly written diss track, and songs referencing sex that sound like they are coming from someone who has never had it.

This is a Litmus Test for taste and common sense. Like if you want to be fleeced by a Billionaire and her poorly written maga adjacent ass then like go with God but I’m gonna give you a wide berth unless we are good good friends.
Taylor Swift was already like my Litmus Test for general taste. She’s so bland and uninspired and always has been. Anything that seemed interesting has been ground down into the Machine.
She is in it for the Money. She’s a saleswoman not a artist.

Taylor Swift is a packaged product, not an artist.

While they’re obviously very different, I’m genuinely baffled by the level of devotion both Taylor Swift and Donald Trump inspire. I just don’t understand how either has reached such intense followings, given what I see as fairly limited talents.
