Prince Andrew Once Told Jeffrey Epstein ‘We Are In This Together’ (Reports)
A leaked email believed to be from Prince Andrew to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appears to shed light on their friendship. The alleged email was reportedly sent a day after the infamous picture of the royal and Epstein with Virginia Guy was published in 2011. In the correspondence, the Duke of York reportedly expressed quote concern over the photo and tells Epstein, quote, “We are in this together.” The Mail on Sunday and The Sun on Sunday in the UK published the alleged email on October 12th, which claims to show the prince assuring Epstein about the situation, reportedly writing, quote, “I’m just as concerned for you. Don’t worry about me. It would seem we are in this together and we’ll have to rise above it.” Adding otherwise keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon. before signing off with a his royal highness the Duke of York KG which is a reference to him being a knight of the prestigious order of the garter. Axis Hollywood has reached out to Prince Andrew for comment and has not independently verified the email. The resurfaced email appears to contradict the royals previous claims that he cut ties with Epstein. He told the BBC that he ended his association with Epstein in December 2010, but the email reportedly reveals that they had apparently stayed in contact. Epstein was convicted and charged for soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008. He was later arrested on sex traffic and conspiracy charges in 2019 and was found dead in his cell in a Manhattan prison. His death was ruled a suicide. Andrew’s leaked email also comes about a month after several charities dropped the Duke’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson after an email she sent to Epstein in 2011 resurfaced. All of this comes after the Mail on Sunday and the Sun newspapers released a 2011 email from the Duchess to Epstein on September 20th. The outlets report that in the email she wrote, quote, I know you feel hellishly let down by me and I most humbly apologize to you and your heart for that. You have always been a steadfast, generous, and supreme friend to me and my family. The email was reportedly sent weeks after she publicly distanced herself from Epstein after he was charged and convicted for soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008. Although a spokesperson for the Duchess told the outlet they were not commenting on the charity’s decisions, they did release a statement to NBC writing, quote, “The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with pedophilia. She does not resile from anything she said. Then this email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats. [Music]
