General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms to Undergo Brain Surgery | E! News
Kirsten Storms is sharing a health update. The General Hospital star, who’s been on a break from the soap opera, shared that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in January and is set to soon undergo surgery to treat it. On Instagram October 13th that it was discovered 3 years after she underwent a cranottomy to remove a cyst. She writes, quote, “The January scan happened because I had symptoms that the doctors thought could have been brain related.” Okay, when I say that I was shocked when the doctors told me they found an aneurysm on the right side of my brain, well, I basically launched into a stand-up comedy routine. Unfortunately, she says the doctors were not able to immediately treat the aneurysm after discovering it. As the actress waits to undergo a minimally invasive coiling procedure aimed at blocking blood flow to the aneurysm, she is relying on her loved ones. She also shares that the aneurysm wasn’t the only diagnosis she received and the healthc care prompted her to leave California. She writes, quote, “Since the January scan showed a new but very small squatter, aka cyst on my brain stem, it was clear I needed to change some things in my life ASAP. For my own personal reasons, no longer living in Los Angeles was very important to me. [Music]
