Diane Keaton’s Cause of Death Revealed | E! News

Diane Katon’s cause of death has been revealed after news broke the Oscar-winning actress died at the age of 79. Her family confirms she died of pneumonia on October 11th and expresses their gratitude for the outpouring of support in a statement to People magazine. It reads, “The Katon family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11th.” Katon’s family goes on to share the causes she was passionate about, saying she loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community. So any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her. Born in Los Angeles in 1946 as Diane Hall, the star rose to fame in 1972 after starring as Kay Adams in The Godfather, the love interest of Al Puccini’s Michael Corleó. The actress then collaborated with Woody Allen, who she had a brief romantic relationship with, on many projects, including the 1977 film Annie Hall, where she played the title character. This romantic comedy earned Diane an Oscar for best actress. Dian’s other on-screen credits include 1995’s Father of the Bride, 1996’s The First Wives Club, and her most recent franchise, The Book Club. [Music]
