Richard Gere Honors “Sweet and Gentle” Costar Diane Keaton | E! News
Richard Gear is mourning his late co-star Diane Keaton. The 76-year-old sharing his memory of the late actress during an October 16th episode of the Today Show, giving insight into their time working on set together, including on the 1977 film Looking for Mr. Goodbar. The second film I made was with her, and obviously I think about her now. We made a film a few years ago, too. I haven’t seen her in a long time. She was um that was a difficult film. It was very kind of raw sexual film and she’s she’s pretty shy and skittish and I was too. It was my second film and we kind of took care of each other getting through these kind of uh challenging physical scenes with each other. But I remember just how sweet and gentle she was and how real and I think anyone who’s ever worked with her just this this is a real person. Yeah. The Oscar winner’s family has shared that Katon died of pneumonia at the age of 79 on October 11th. She’s received an outpouring of love from fellow Hollywood heavyweights including former co-star Keanu Reeves who starred with Katon in the 2003 film Something’s Got to Give. the actor remembering her on a recent episode of The Late Show with Steven Colbear. Do you have any me do you have a a memory you can share of Diane Katon and shooting this with her before we go? Um just such a well you know and you know too. I mean just such when we all know what an extraordinary unique special person and artist Diane is was and is.
