Ben Stiller’s Kids Detail Their Difficult Relationship With Him | E! News
Ben Stiller’s kids call him out on his parenting, or lack thereof. In the Celeb’s new documentary about his parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meera, titled Stiller and Meera: Nothing is Lost, he opens up about his shortcomings as a father and husband to his wife, Christine Taylor, with whom he shares daughters Ella and son Quinn, who are now both in their 20s. While talking to Quinn in the documentary Per Us Weekly, Ben reveals that Ella recently told him, “I literally can’t ever remember you being around when I was growing up.” When Ben asks if that’s something that quote resonates with Quinn, his son confesses that maybe sometimes it felt like being a dad wasn’t at the top of the actor’s priorities. Quinn explains in the dock, “After a tough day or if something was going wrong, you can kind of get into your own head. And when you get into that place, it’s hard to get you out of it.” So that would kind of put a damper on the fun part of being on vacation. He then adds, “You have all these hats that you’re trying to balance, you know, being a director, an actor, a producer, a writer, but also just like a father. And sometimes I felt that would come last to these other things.” Earlier this month, Ben chatted with ENews at a screening of the film during the New York Film Festival and talked about possibly giving daughter Ella guidance in navigating Hollywood. The fact that my dad saved everything, saved all these audio recordings, film, tape, television appearances, scripts, all of this stuff. It It annoyed us so much when we were kids. And I know it annoyed my mom, too. It’s like, when are you ever going to throw this stuff out? But there’s something valuable in saving this physical stuff, this physical media, especially now where everything’s gone digital and people don’t really have stuff to actually hang on to. And I feel like I’m lucky enough to have lived in a generation that has those momentos and those that actual, you know, kind of history. So, I think that was something that I really appreciated that he did. She asks me anything, I’ll I’ll talk to her about it. But she’s so clear on what she’s doing and um she’s usually giving me advice actually, which I appreciate. You just have to want to be together and want to make it work. I think that’s the the biggest thing. It’s just about a commitment to the relationship and valuing the relationship. But I feel really lucky that we got to a place where we could on both both sides value what we had and and want to make it work.
In Ben Stiller’s upcoming documentary ‘Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost’—which looks back at his childhood and the relationship between his parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara—the ‘Zoolander’ star also detailed his own journey as a father, which included some tough conversations with his and wife Christine Taylor’s children Ella Stiller, 23, and Quin Stiller, 20. The kids sound spoiled, ngl. Everyone’s parents are stressed from work. But at least they are gonna be left w generational wealth and tons of opportunities.
Lol they need therapy
Failing as a parent, the biggest and hardest job in the world says a lot about someone.
He must feel humiliation. Good!
I’m sure the separation of him from Christine, didn’t help. It hurt that family
