Will Dax Shepard Make a Nobody Wants This Cameo? Kristen Bell Says… | E! News
Congratulations on the second season. It’s really very good. How did it feel to get I did I watched the whole thing. Um, how did it feel to get back into this after season 1 was such a massive hit. Just exciting. There’s no other way to describe it. I I people have been asking me were you nervous about season 2 be? And I wasn’t at all. I felt like the road was so clear and Aaron Foster has such a clear vision that she was like we’re going to give the public what they want. We’re not going to try to break them up every episode or make any crazy turns. Let’s This is a feel-good show. Let’s make people feel good. Yeah. And it does. I felt good watching it. What should the fans know before they get started on season 2? Where when we pick this up, where are we? We’re about We’re we’re weeks after the end of season 1, so you don’t really need to know much. But if you want to go back and watch season 1 to get the goods, you can feel free. Depends on what your schedule is. What was it like having Leighton on set? I mean, I She’s a terrific She’s so good in this role. I don’t want to say too much. She’s so good in everything. Um I I first worked with her on Veronica Mars when we were babies like 25 years ago, and I remember being like, “This girl is so talented.” It was like an episode she did with Adam Scott where maybe they were she was sleeping with the teacher. It was like kind of an intense episode. Um, but when this character was written as the friendnemy, someone that Joanne needed to be um kind of like threatened by but also really admire, everyone was like, “Oh my gosh, do you think Leighton would do it? Do you think Leighton would do it?” And when she said yes, we were just giddy. And she’s so funny in the show. She’s a quite an adept improver, which is really nice. Yeah. I know. I don’t want to say too much, but she’s really It’s a very She’s very funny in it. What is it like to have the the two of them on set together? It’s so It’s beyond cute. It’s as cute as you think it is. The crazy thing about that episode is, try and stick with me here. Okay, I will. Leighton played a character named Abby. Aby’s husband on the show is played by an actor named Joe Gillette. Joe Gillette in real life dates Jackie Tone who plays Esther. Oh my god. So, if you were to look at Adam and ask him who Joe Gillette was, he would say, “That’s my wife’s husband.” Yeah. Everybody made cameos in this cuz even there’s a uh there’s a portrait that’s drawn is all I can say. Um and Justine’s husband is an artist and he was the one that drew the portrait. I mean I know you said that like Dax doesn’t really have a lot of interest in acting. He’s like podcasting. But is there a role that Sarah and Aaron and the team could write that would woo him? Not a chance. You don’t think so at all? No, he doesn’t. Um he likes podcasting a lot. I don’t I I mean he would if I asked him but I don’t want him to do something if he doesn’t want it. He was like would you podcast with me every day of you guys like my friends are all playing. I want to go play with my friends. That looks fun. He comes for lunch and stuff so he plays a lot off camera. That is very cute. Um I mean even that your kids are like in this and seeing you guys and in all this success you guys are having. Do they have an interest in following in your footsteps or do they have they expressed an interest in it? I mean yes and no as much as any other kid has. I mean, I think I have my oldest daughter does quite a bit of theater and loves musical theater. So, like I really she’s cut from my cloth and she’s it’s incredible cuz she’ll also be to me like, “Hey, did you know Jeremy Jordan’s going back into The Great Gatsby in November?” And I’m like, “Yes, I do. I happen to She knows like deep cut Broadway knowledge.” What is your What is your feeling like? What is that emotional feeling like when you see your little one on stage performing? Oh, makes me so happy because she’s happy. Cuz that’s how I found out how to express myself and where I found my my best moments, my happiest moments. And theater kids are the best group of people out there. So, that’s really what more could I want for her? I I’m going to have one. Mine is mine is seven and sitting on stand on the coffee table singing K-pop Demon Hunters non-stop. I feel like she’s this close. Pop on Mean Girls. Pop on Beetlejuice. Pop on something boppy and then see if you know they gravitate towards musical theater. [Music]
