I know everyone fell in love with Leo here, but I had it bad for John Leguizamo. The moment he yanked off his jacket to reload and kiss his gun… Woof.

I absolutely love the editing in this movie. It reflects the manic ferocity of the spite between the two families as well as the whirlwind romance. It’s substance as style. Brilliant.

Absolutely one of the best adaptations in terms of capturing the spirit of the original so that it didn’t matter whether you understood 16th century English or not. And I think it would have been right up Shakespeare’s street if he had lived in the 20th century.
