How Emily Blunt Came Up With Her Iconic Line #shorts #emilyblunt #devilwearsprada

I saw a mother speaking to her child in a supermarket when we were shooting that film. And it’s a line that gets quoted back to me now where she yelled at her kid in a supermarket and she kind of went like this with her hand and she goes, “Yeah, I’m hearing this and I want to hear this.” I put it in the movie. I’m hearing this and I want to hear

👠 Emily Blunt shares how she came up with her iconic “I’m hearing a lot of this…” line in The Devil Wears Prada

    1. Imagine being that mom finding out you unknowingly created that little moment in the movie because the actress saw you do it. Or watching the movie without knowing that detail and think “Omg it’s like I’m watching myself, I always do that!”. 😂

    2. The first time I saw that hand motion used for jibbering was in 2002's 'the Master of Disguise' starring Dana Carvey.
"This, is what you're doing. This, is what I want you to do."
"Did you just tell me to shut up?"
      "Mmm, yes."

    3. I learned that gesture from The Master of Disguise. Only the phrase that accompanied it was, "This is what you are doing. *hand talking* This is what I want you to do! **hand shuts up**"

    4. Yeeeaaaa i have a feeling the mom might have watched the movie Master of Disguises lol that was an amazing movie ❤ and there is a part where they do this ❤

    5. Just a rip off of Dana Carvey in master of disguise, "this is what you're doing this is what I want you to do" that movie came out 6 years earlier. She's just a thief
