Sarah Ferguson Changes Social Media After Prince Andrew Title Drop | E! News

Sarah Ferguson makes a major social media change after her ex, Prince Andrew, gives up his royal title. Four days after her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, announced he would no longer use his royal titles, such as Duke of York, his ex-wife has updated her social media to remove references to her Duchess of York title. The 66-year-old, popularly known by the nickname Fergie, formerly used the exhandle Sarah the Duchess, though it now reads Sarah M. Fergie 15. On Instagram, her handle Sarah Ferguson5 remains unchanged, while her bio on both platforms makes no reference to her former title. Though Sarah and Prince Andrew finalized their divorce in 1996, the former duchess had retained the royal title given to her by Queen Elizabeth II upon her 1986 wedding in some areas of her public life. However, she will now solely be referred to as Sarah Ferguson. As for Andrew, he will keep the title of prince since he is the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Fergie and Andrew’s daughters, Beatatrice and Eugenie, will retain their official titles, which are both her royal highness, Princess.
