      I don’t understand the four tours comment? He (bernie) didn’t serve four tours either and I don’t understand how being in the military would absolve one of minimizing sexual assault or having a Nazi tattoo??

      A veteran who had four tours of duty having a Nazi death squad tattoo is worse. The guy had a gun and the protection of the military industrial complex while displaying those ideals.

Do you really think he’s been some kind of crypto-Nazi the whole time, or is it more likely that a soldier in a tattoo parlor picked a design and said “That’s badass” without knowing it’s context? ‘Cause I had to look up the actual Nazi death head to confirm it was the same design.

      That isn’t how sexual assault works. Women, and men, and all others, get ‘fucked up’ all the time on substances, even in mixed company or in public, and nobody tries to have sex with them, because they aren’t a predator. Other times, women (or anyone) are sober, and someone takes advantage of them, even if it’s a trusted friend or family member- **because that person is a sexual predator.** Period.

      Blaming women who were victimized, and suggesting they ‘take responsibility’ because they **may** have been using substances, is fucking gross. (The irony isn’t lost on me as well that drinking and drugs have a huge cultural pressure behind them, and if you’re having fun with people, they will very often want you to partake; but hey, don’t get assaulted, or it was on you.)

      Oh, and it has nothing to do with someone’s military service. Predators- and the people who excuse and enable them- exist in every field, in every group, and to suggest him having served multiple tours makes his shitty take OK is gross. Fuckin shameful, Bernie.

      also idgaf if he served in war, men are far too comfortable making sexual assault jokes and have normalized it.

      Am I the only one not even remotely surprised that he got this tattoo while he was in the military? I’ve reason to believe that small but not insignificant percentage of our military holds white supremacist beliefs. Especially when Platner was serving.
