Louisie Tomlinson is reflecting on the loss of Liam Payne. One year after his former bandmate tragically passed away in Argentina, Louie shares with the Independent how it’s still hard to accept that Liam is actually gone. Explaining to the outlet about already having lost his mother in 2016 and sister in 2019. I naively thought that at this point I’d unfortunately be a little bit more well-versed with grief than other people my age. I thought that might mean something, but it didn’t at all. The singer adds of Liam, “It’s something I’ll never really accept, I don’t think.” Louie and Liam were both part of the hit boy band One Direction, which was formed out of the competition series X Factor. The two were also joined by Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Nyall Heran, becoming one of the bestselling groups of all time. And though the group took a hiatus in 2016, Louie says that Liam was one friend he could always count on to show up. recalling his time as a judge on the X Factor. This is in no way a comment aimed at the other boys, but I know if it was me, I would have struggled with that idea. There would have been a feeling of inferiority there because you’re the guest. That any opportunity Liam got like that, he was always always there for me. Even if he might have been struggling, he put himself second and still turned up. Those moments are really a testament to the truth of who he was as a person. [Music]

Never the same. 😢 I lost my Grandma to her mental health problems when I was 20. I am 42 now and I still can not wrap my head around it. To those of us who love Liam, I don't think we will ever fully accept that he passed away. I certainly haven't. Some days, I still can't even believe he's gone.
