It’s been 11 years since Rita Ora didn’t get 100k retweets and pretended to get hacked

    1. Second most embarrassing moment of her career, right after that atrocious cover of Running Up That Hill on RiR.

I love how she went with the “I was hacked” excuse because the tweet flopped.

    3. Underrated part of this “threatening to release new music”. Like “fall in line, or you’re all gonna be exposed to unreleased Rita Ora music!”

    4. The thing is: 100k retweets in 2014 was like absolutely unheard of. It isn’t like it is now. There just isn’t any way that any sane person would think they could have ever gotten that many RTs.

IMO: 49% actually hacked, 46% she didn’t understand how many 100K retweets actually were in the history of the site, 5% she thought that she was actually that stan-able

I remember this. Still gives second hand embarrassment.

      My goodness, time has zoomed.

I don’t think she understood how insane a number 100,000 was to say. I don’t think that ellen oscar picture had that many

Back in 2011-12(?), the local radio show gave free tickets to a meet & greet at a club for Rita Ora (didn’t know who she was at the time) and ~30ish people showed up. This was in Northern California.

    8. When I was on the quiz show Pointless in 2012 my pal and I made it through to the head to head before being shown picture of current pop musicians. Being old fogeys of 25 we knew none of them, whereas our opponents, teachers who dealt with teenagers all day, named Rita Ora and made it through to the final. To this day, I still hold a grudge against Rita Ora.
