They literally edited the article a few minutes ago to mention that the videos are fake and removed their mention of Brett Cooper and Amir Odom, two political commentators who also covered the videos as if they were real.

This is the now edited article: https://www.foxnews.com/media/snap-beneficiaries-threaten-ransack-stores-over-government-shutdown

I will post screenshot of the original article in the comments.

I’ll vote for any candidate who will make generative AI illegal

all it’s used for is scamming people, framing people, or sexualizing people

    2. Between this, the tremendous harm being done to Black communities in the US because of data centres, news OpenAI relies on Kenyan workers (for less than $2 an hour) and the expansion of these exploitive labour practices throughout Africa anti-Blackness is emerging as a key use/feature of AI.

      Disgusting.

This is so dangerous and terrifying. We can now create realistic videos of what we wish the news was and millions of people will believe it because it confirms their bias. Corrections, retractions, and fact-checking are ineffectual; the damage will be done.
And by the same token, anything you disagree with, real or not, you can just dismiss as AI.
What happens when facts are no longer facts? When truth is what you want it to be?
