Drew Barrymore Details Breast Cancer Scare | E! News

I recently had a scare. Drew Barrymore reveals she had a frightening health concern while speaking with comedian Tignitaro on her talk show November 3rd. While discussing the documentary Come See Me in the Good Light, which chronicles late poet Andrea Gibson’s terminal cancer diagnosis and which Tig produced, Drew feels comfortable opening up about a situation in her own life. This is the thing I’ve wanted to risk talking about on this show because I recently had a scare. I’m completely fine, but I did get a bad mammogram and I got taken into that room and then I had an emergency biopsy and I waited those 5 days. And after disclosing her scare, Drew asks Tig, who underwent a double mastctomy for breast cancer in 2012, how she coped with the diagnosis. How did you calm yourself? How did you make peace with it? Well, um it was I mean it cracked me open completely. I mean it forces you to you know get over any sort of feeling that you can’t ask for help. It is the greatest gift you can give yourself and the people that love you because people want to help. People want to do good and it it changed my life. [Music]
