MTV Cancels Ridiculousness After 46 Seasons | E! News

It’s the end of a viral era. MTV is cancelling Ridiculousness. After a whopping 46 seasons, the network won’t be renewing Ridiculousness, the series helmed by Rob Derk since 2011. According to sources familiar with the decision, MTV is shifting to feature a more curated slate of offerings with fresh formats, different creative voices, and refreshed programming. No more original episodes of Ridiculousness will be produced. However, previously produced new episodes will air through 2026 on the channel. Rob was joined on the series by co-host Sterling Stilo Brim, Lauren Lola Wood, and previously Chanel West Coast, who announced she’d be leaving the series in March 2023. After her exit, Chanel shared insight into her decision to pursue independent projects, telling E-News in July 2024, “I think this was just the natural time and uh it was it was the natural evolution of of me, you know. I think my fans saw everything I was doing outside of ridiculousness.” And I would constantly get comments and stuff like, “When are you going to have your own show? When do we get to watch this?” You know, and so it was just it was it was like the natural next step. But fans will still be able to relive the show’s take on viral videos as sources confirm all previous seasons of the series will continue to air on MTV with select seasons available on Paramount Plus. 1. Thank god maybe MUSIC TELEVISION will be music television again MTV was never supposed to be reality shows it was supposed to be MUSIC VIDEOS and MUSIC related shows!!!! But you little pop tarts that weren’t around when Mtv first started wouldn’t know that

    2. Wait a minute I had to do some math on that 46 seasons in 15 years. No wonder it’s canceled. They kept rerunning the show so are they counting the reruns too? I stopped watching it a few years ago because of the reruns and how many times can you watch some fall it was to much

    3. 23 hours of ridiculousness is just crazy tbh. I miss when mtv was actually music and would play music in the morning while I got ready for school in the morning.

    4. It's insane that Ridiculousness continued for 46 Seasons!!! 🥴 It should've been cancelled back in 2017. When Big Black passed away. It was never the same without him. RIP Chris🙏❤

    5. Nobody wants to see you do anything Chanel. Why do you think you were the only one they could interview. And who has money like that and can keep their house clean. We were all glad to see you go and happy we never have to see you again.

    6. I'm interested to see what direction MTV will go in next since they want to have 'refreshed programming.' This could be a good return to form for the network having more variety in it's programming and maybe more music based programming from artists. Maybe we could even get cartoons back on the network someday.
