We needed some good news. Despite all the craziness happening right now we are at least headed in the right direction with inclusiveness. I loved seeing stars when I was young who look liked me and now more and more kids get to see people who look like them living their dreams
It was such a sweet idea to have Cesily present the award. And Marissa was great. I’m glad that they actually cast a real wheelchair user for the film, and they had a real wheelchair user for the first time playing Nessa on Broadway recently. We need more of this.
(I’m immunocompromised by my medication. I was also glad to see someone there in an N95, which is something that’s even often overlooked within the disability community. As a way to make things more accessible.)
