    1. Great damn speech. Has a mayor ever had this much global backing before?

Also, anyone who watched the full thing, what was the name of the song that played when he finished and his wife came up to him? Was an incredible vibe

      Edit: thanks for the song!!

He can grassroots raise the 8% the feds will take from the New York budget, or just tax the billionaires for it. Even if his policies don’t succeed he can point to how the president openly fought his city to impede him.

His future is a win win now.

They have no idea how fucked they are.

I love him and he makes me optimistic! We need that during this difficult time!

He went hard on that speech…especially when he spoke directly to Trump – Turn the volume up. I nearly fell out of my seat!

Someone standing up to the billionaires and standing for the actual working people. Democratic leaders are you taking notice of what we actually want?

    6. That speech was incredible. This guy has so much rizz and so much emotional intelligence. We’re all rooting for him so much.

    7. Most politicians make me want to punch myself in the face. This man makes me want to do community service even though I’m living in New Jersey.

    8. That is my mayor. 🥹 So grateful to all of my fellow voters who came out emphatically in big numbers. Wow, voting for something positive and a way forward and someone with a policy platform that really makes sense for the regular person.

It is such a great feeling. I love this city full of immigrants. My family from one to three generations ago came here from other places. I love being able to walk around and hear multiple languages. And being able to speak multiple languages.

His speech and that clip in particular is just so powerful and beautiful .

    9. I’m a first generation American and sometimes forget it. Thanks for helping me remember what my ancestors went through to get me where I am today.

    10. The exact part where I teared up. Being an immigrant has been so scary lately, thinking that almost half the country is afraid of you, ignorant of you, sees you as an other to blame for problems. I haven’t felt hope of any kind in a year.

THANKS NYC! As a Californian that voted Yes on Prop 50 I am so happy for your city and my state!
