Britney Snow is opening up about leaving Hollywood in her 20s and how she says it saved her life. The actress has recently made headlines for her role in Hunting Wives. But nearly 20 years ago, the now 39-year-old had a starring role as Kate Spencer in the cult classic John Tucker Must Die. In 2007, Britney spoke out about her mental health and eating disorders. But she has since said the public reaction was awful and as a result took two years out of the public to focus on healing and her mental health. Speaking with Self magazine, she says, “My life depended on it. I mean, there was no way that I would still be here.” And I’m not trying to be hyperbolic. I think that in those days, I needed to be part of movies that made me fall in love with life again. After attending rehab for anorexia and depression, Britney went to an outpatient program. She tells the outlet, “I think rewiring my brain where I could count on myself and I could trust myself. I could be in a space and feel like I wasn’t going to do something harmful to myself was the best thing that ever could have happened to my recovery. [Music] [Music]
