Bindi Irwin Supports Brother Robert Irwin After Emotional DWTS Tribute | E! News
Bendy Irwin is supporting her brother after his emotional tribute to late dad Steve Irwin. On Dancing with the Stars, the wildlife conservationist made a surprise appearance in her younger brother and his dancing partner Whitney Carson’s latest routine November 11th. The emotional fox trot set to Lyanna Lewis’s Footprints in the Sand was a tribute to Robert and Bendy’s late father, Steve Irwin. Season 21 winner Bindy previously danced to the same song with Derkoff in their 2015 freestyle routine. Robert and Whitney separated on the dance floor before Bendy walked out and took Robert’s hand to finish the performance with him. They kneled and Robert broke down as videos of their dad showed on the dance floor. Stevewin died at the age of 44 in September of 2006. On Instagram, Robert writes, “Tonight was healing. This dance was emotional, beautiful, and so deeply meaningful. I carried Dad’s legacy with me in everything I do, and it was a privilege to dedicate our fox trot to him. Thank you, Bendy, for inspiring us with your freestyle to this song. And thank you, Whitney, for once again choreographing such a beautiful story through dance and for creating a space for me to convey raw emotions that I’ve never gotten to share before. I’m a proud wildlife warrior, and I’ll always carry on my dad’s mission. I’m so grateful that I can do that in the ballroom. [Music]
