Allison Mack is looking back on her early days with Nexium. 2 years after she was released from prison, the Smallville alum shares insight into how she got involved in Nexium, a purported self-help group that has since been characterized as a sex cult by former members. On the November 10th episode of her Allison After Nexium podcast, she details how she learned about the group through her Smallville co-star Kristen Crook, who was her roommate in New York City for a time and who, according to Allison, was also searching for deeper meaning in life. she candidly explains on the pod. I was like, I feel like this odd emptiness and it feels so wrong given the nature of my life, you know, and she was like, “Yeah, me too.” The 43-year-old says that search led Kristen to try out a few classes with a new self-help organization named Nexium while they were in Vancouver filming Smallville. Enus has reached out to a rep for Kristen for comment and has not yet heard back. Allison pleaded guilty in 2019 to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering acts of state law extortion and forced labor after admitting to blackmailing two women into performing services in Nexium by threatening to release damaging information about them. She later served two years of her three-year prison sentence and was released in July 2023. [Music]

This cult situation is so creepy, these are the kind of people that give me such ick and I make a point to disconnect from. I watched some footage of the Manson cult women and it reminded me of these same cult types in that they are definitely into some gross malignant cult stuff and the whole situation is ick to the point of being repulsive.
It’s honestly so disgusting how we make it so easy for criminals to platform themselves. Like why does she have her own podcast, already!? This just normalizes this cycle. If you serve a little time or go to jail, you can make a comeback and all is forgiven. It’s a joke.
