Kennedy heir Jack Schlossberg running for Congress to fight Trump

Move over Zoron mom Donnie. New York City already has a new political IT boy and he’s JFK’s grandson. With more is our senior reporter Mar Seagler. Who are we talking about today? Yeah. So, uh Carolyn Kennedy’s son Jack Schlloberg has decided to enter the um race for the 12th congressional seat which was formerly had held by Jerry Nadler who um has decided to retire. So, it’s really up for grabs. It’s a crowded uh crowded field of Democrats, but Jack’s got um the internet on his side. That’s right. He’s famously known as Jack Uno. He has millions of followers and he’s also a self-proclaimed silly goose. Yeah. So, he does all of these, you know, he really started getting attention a couple years ago when he began doing these like really kind of like almost bizarre over-the-top like he’ll be paddle boarding in the Hudson or he’ll do like Brightite poetry while skateboarding. Um, I saw one of those like just like kind of like wacky stuff and he often has his shirt off and he looks like, you know, a Kennedy. He kind of looks like JFK Jr. He’s a very attractive Kennedy. Yes. Um, and then you know he worked for Vogue as a freelance political consultant for them. He spoke at the DNC and then he really I think his profile even more than kind of like his antics. It upped it when he really went after his cousin RFK Jr. who you know was in the Trump administration. Maha make America healthy again. He really went after him. Um, and he’s been going after JD Vance and a lot of the the Trump administration. Yeah. One of my favorite uh memes that he kept bringing up was about relief at the pump. He’d say, “J, I’m at the pump. I’m pumping my gas. We need some relief at the pump.” Yeah. Kind of spoofing the obsession that, you know, politicians have about gas prices. There’s been some things too where I think like it it has been controversial because he as much as some of these are funny, I think some of them really cross the line for some people. Yeah, he was hitting on Right. Which I think it got into the ick factor. Right. Right. It it’s um Yeah. But I am told So a source told me that his online persona is very different from his actual persona. So that he’s actually like polished. He does have he has degrees from Yale, Harvard, Harvard Law. Um I mean he’s incredibly well educated. when he does want to, you know, there are times like at the DNC obviously where he does have to be serious and he does come across very polished, well spoken, obviously like very smart. And now it’s up for New Yorkers to decide. The New York 12th district is basically Chelsea, Flat Iron, Murray Hill up to the Upper West Side, Upper East Side. Yes, it’s your district, too. It is. It is. So, I’m all like going to be watching this race very closely. Um, yeah. So, basically a source told me that uh Jack is really trying to go after not just he’s going to be focusing on, of course, local politics, but with an eye on the Trump administration. And what they told me that means is Trump is apparently, according to this source, obsessed with the Kennedys. So, he knows who Jack is. And in order, what they were saying was that in order to be paid attention to by the Trump administration, you have to be relevant to them. And so in order for him to fight for his district, it also means that he has to fight at like these larger levels and be kind of anti- MAGA. And in today’s world, you know, it used to be having one embarrassing internet video could, you know, derail your whole campaign. That’s all Jack Schlloberg has at this point. So he is so many videos and probably is okay standing by any of them because they’re just silliness. You know, it’s it’s a lot of satire. It’s a lot of ways to just get attention. And you know, I’ve I’ve heard it say said before where it’s like hiding the broccoli in the mashed potatoes. You know, it’s like you’re delivering an important message. You know, you might have a political stance, but you’re hiding it in all these kind of goofy, you know, social media grabs. I mean, it will be interesting to see how his campaign goes. You know, I’m sure there will be a lot of Tik Toks. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle that. It’ll also be interesting to see him in these interviews and other things where he is being more serious. So, he’s going to be focusing on three crisises. And I’m told those are a cost crisis, a corruption crisis, and a constitutional crisis. And the source told me that everything that Schlober will talk about in the next few months is in the prism of these three topics. So that could be ICE, free speech, due process, or just asking where the money is. So we will see. I mean, he’s going to have to get into deeper things. This person also told me, you know, Trump doesn’t know who any of those people are. He knows Jack. You want to bleep with Trump? elect a Kennedy. It’s not going to be who’s a better congressman. It’s who is going to be a better fighter and who has the weight in the digital world. You know, there’s some truth behind that. You know, Eric Botcher currently represents a similar part of the city as a uh New York uh city councilman and he’s amazing. He’s done great stuff. Amazing guy. He represents Chelsea Hell’s Kitchen, you know, the neighborhoods. And you know, he’s going to give Jack a run for his money because the locals know who he is. He’s young. He’s cool. He’s been doing a lot of good stuff for the city. Yeah, he’s like the blonde Jacko. So, there’s also um Micah Lasher, who’s expected to be endorsed by Nadler, Liam Alkine, and Alex Bores. Um Nadler did come out and kind of, you know, sort of he did not endorse. No, he kind of brushed him off. Back in September, he told CNN, “There’s nothing particularly good or bad about a Kennedy holding my seat, but the Kennedy, unlike Schllober, should be somebody with a record of public service, and he doesn’t have one. He’s 32 years old. You got to start somewhere, you know. I mean, I think what we saw from mom Donnie is people like um you know, they don’t necessarily need somebody with a very long resume. I think that they like, you know, someone younger, someone not part of the gerontocracy, part someone part not part of the establishment. That being said, he is a a Kennedy. So, um, it’ll be interesting. And again, like, uh, I think with the Mzani campaign, they did so many things with TikTok and they really got voters invested in him and like knowing who he was. So, we’ll see if Jack can get that. I think Jack’s like gonna get that some momentum going for sure. And they both have killer dimples, so that can’t hurt either. Yes. Exactly.
