Sophia Bush Reveals Shockingly Low ‘One Tree Hill’ Salary | E! News
Sophia Bush gets candid about her One Tree Hill salary. During a November 12th appearance on the Net Worth and Chill podcast at a Tech Future panel, the actress who appeared on the series for all nine seasons opens up about her paycheck at the time, saying, “Everybody was coming from something. Hillary had been a VJ. Joy had been on soap operas, and I had been the philanthropy chair of my sorority at USC.” So, the difference of pay scale was wild. The Chicago PD alum then breaks down what her take-home salary was, stating, “Once I paid, you know, 10% to my managers, 10% to my agents, 5% to my lawyers, paid a publicist fee, paid my taxes, and then paid the like $3,000 a month that my two-bedroom apartment in Wilmington cost me. I was taking home about $3,000 an episode.” And while Sophia hoped there would be a return on her investment down the road, she says that’s not what happened, explaining, “What you really hope works for you in TV, even if you’re not making a lot of money at the time, is well, we’ll get syndicated and we’ll get residuals except when we signed to do that wonderful show that we all loved. There was no streaming.” She adds, “Our show is syndicated on streaming, which means the studio that owns the show makes all the residuals and we don’t.” E-News has reached out to Warner Brothers, which produced the first three seasons of the series for comic, but hasn’t heard back. And though she says her pay did increase over the years, the 43-year-old shares how it took time for her to advocate for equal pay, noting, “It took me 20 years in this industry. Year 20 was the first time I got paid equally to my male co-stars. [Music]

What does she expect she was on the WB/CW. Not even a real network. Alot of people didn't make money on that network. Ask the cast of Buffy
