CMA Awards 2025: Brett Young, Taylor Mills Reveal Secret to Marriage | E! News
Taylor and I have always been friends. Um I think I don’t think this is especially with what I do for a living and being gone all the time. I don’t think it works if you’re not. We have the same sense of humor and we have a good time. We just came off of a trip without the kids straight here and uh we had a blast. 17 years since we met and and we still have a blast together. I think you need to have fun together and never stop dating. Good. They’re uh Yeah. No, I mean she crushes it. I get to slide in and out and take some of the credit. um they’re at they’re they’re old enough now that they’re little people and they’re starting to have personalities and um for a dad, you know, the first couple years they only need mom. So, as much as I enjoy having babies, I’m starting to get to like feel like they need me and they like me a little bit. So, um selfishly, I’m enjoying this age the most so far. They’re daddy’s girls. I mean, they really are. They like me, but they when dad comes in the room, it just Yeah, they do. They’re They really like music. Um, I was saying this earlier. I kind of went into having kids hoping they didn’t want to be in this business, but they’re like showing a really good ear and they they have like cute little voices and they can they like they keep a a key like they they’ll hear my song and my oldest will like sing the runs. No way. Um, so I’m worried that I’m worried that we don’t have a choice. What was really fun for me with this project was getting to go back through my catalog and put out songs I’ve had for a long time that we were we were so worried about putting out the right songs to complete each record that a lot of songs were getting left left out. and I hated that cuz they’re like my babies. So, it’s fun to put out a lot of songs I’ve been sitting on for a long time, but also moving forward, it’s just I’m in a different stage in my life. So, I’m writing from a different place now. And so, I think uh there’ll be a lot more life behind the the songs and the lyrics in what’s coming next. [Music]
