Why Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert Are Going on Tour With Their Baby | E! News

We’re both very excited to uh enter into this new chapter in our lives as parents and uh and then also to continue our our love and passion for performing. Everything I do in my life as a as an artist, as a performer, um it’s all a culmination that leads to going out on the road and performing live. So yeah, obviously we we took this year off to uh you know, have a baby. We’re having a baby, which is exciting. We’re so so freaking excited about that. This particular tour as well, we’re calling it Symphony of Dance Encore because it’s the same tour, Symphony of Dance. Um, but we’ll change things and upgrade things of course and you know, but but the the meat of it is going to be the same show. It’s sort of this encore performance of this tour which we’re very excited about and um we’ll be having like a documentary coming out in uh the beginning of next year and it’s sort of as a as a call back to that whole experience launching this first the first symphony dance and of course Haley and her incredible extraordinary comeback story. Um and yeah and then we’ll have a little one that’s going to be on the road with us too. So it’s going to be really exciting. We’re going to have an amazing cast of dancers. It’s a live band. It’s great. Amazing production. And who for anybody that’s come and see my my tours, my shows, know that we bring a lot of energy. You know, we bring a lot of love, a lot of just uh a lot of energy. And um I can’t wait to bring that out on the road again. It’s going to be great. I actually said I actually said I said, “Honey, I don’t know.” I was like, “I don’t know if I I don’t even know if I want to go on tour.” Like I was like, “I I think I want to I don’t know what I’m going to feel, what I’m going to experience. like I don’t know how my life is going to like going to how personally my world view and my life is going to change and our life together you know as a family and uh and she was like no I want to go on tour like let’s do this um because you know for her you know it’s it’s having something to work towards you know just like her recovery she had this sort of goal this mission to work towards something and it really helped her recover her and I think that she has that similar mentality even with this. However, with that said, there’s absolutely no pressure and there’s no um we’re keeping an open mind, of course. We’re like, let’s see how it goes and let’s see how you feel and let’s see if it makes sense. and your health is number one and our family is number one, you know, and uh but we’ve talked to actually and we before we even like decided to do the tour, we spoke to some of our friends, you know, like uh Val and Jenna and and Danny and Pasha and and they’ve have experience with taking their their newborn basically on the road on a bus. And we asked them, we said like how was that, you know, like what was that experience like? And they both shared, they said, “It is fantastic actually. We love it because you’re with them all day. You’re undivided attention. You’re just there and then you put them down for bed and then you go out and you do what you were born to do and you go out and perform. So we we honestly it gave us a bit more confidence to say, “Okay, yeah, maybe maybe we can do this, you So without that without those stories and without that sort of um you know blessing if you will from people who’ve experienced it um I I actually don’t know if we would have uh done this or not.
