Maria Shriver Addresses Tatiana Schlossberg’s “Bravery” Amid Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

Maria Shrivever is showing her support for Tatiana Schlushberg. On November 23rd, the author shared some kind words for her cousin Caroline Kennedy’s daughter after the 35-year-old wrote a moving piece for The New Yorker in which she revealed that she’d been diagnosed with acute myoid leukemia with Maria writing in part in her newsletter. I’m super proud of Tatiana for sharing her story and writing this article. Her honest, moving, and heartbreaking story will take your breath away. I’m also proud of her deciding to share what all this has been like for her extraordinary husband George, her amazing parents and supportive family. The daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schllober revealed that she was diagnosed with acute myoid leukemia just hours after delivering her second child in May 2024. Tatiana then spent several weeks at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital before being transferred to another facility for a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, she relapsed, going on to join several clinical trials this year. As she recalls, quote, “During the latest clinical trial, my doctor told me that he could keep me alive for a year, maybe.” And as Tatiana continues to navigate her battle with cancer, the 35-year-old noted that her husband quote did everything for me that he possibly could, adding that her family has also stepped up. My parents and my brother and sister too have been raising my children and sitting in my various hospital rooms almost every day for the last year and a half. They have held my hand unflinchingly while I have suffered, trying not to show their pain and sadness in order to protect me from it.

Maria Shriver spoke out after Tatiana Schlossberg, who is the daughter of her cousin Caroline Kennedy, shared her terminal cancer diagnosis.
