Jodie Sweetin on Drinking at 14 During Candace Cameron Bure’s Wedding | E! News

Jodie Sweden opens up about her past battles with sobriety. The 43-year-old actress revealing on the Skinny Confidential podcast November 20th. The first time she drank alcohol was at age 14 while attending Full House co-star Candace Cameron Beret’s wedding back in 1996. Jodie reflecting on the night describing it as quote awful, ugly, and embarrassing. I was just a blackout drinker. I went the last thing I remember doing I think is somewhere around the M of a YMCA and then I don’t remember anything from the rest of the night. I was horrified the next day and I felt awful but I it like clicked something in there where I was like that was fun. You didn’t give a about it like you just you remember it. I definitely knew at an early age I’d say around 15 16 I knew that I drank and partied in a way that my friends did not. Jodie has been very vocal in the past about her struggles with addiction, but says she is 16 years sober from alcohol and 13 years sober from relapse of use of prescription drugs. The actress says being famous put a spotlight on her addiction for the world to see, but she hopes telling her story will help inspire those who are suffering to see the light.
