Ice-T Says Reduced Law & Order: SVU Role Wasn’t His Choice | E! News
We’ll be seeing less iced tea on this season of Law and Order SVU. The rapper turned actor tells TMZ on November 24th that his character Sergeant Finn Tutola will not be returning as a full-time cast member for season 27. ICT saying quote, “It’s just basically business.” They brought Kelly back and at the end of the day, they couldn’t keep both of us on full time as far as budget-wise. They said, “Ice, we’ll have you come in and out this year.” Ice referring to the return of fan favorite Kelly Giddish, who plays Sergeant Amanda Rollins, saying, quote, “Everybody wanted Kelly back.” He also reassured fans his character would return, saying, quote, “I am not leaving the show. I am more concerned with going to season 28 this year.” They said, “Ice, we’re going to work with you a little less. Everything was cool with me.” I understood. As cool as Ice may seem, the 67year-old recalls asking execs if they were getting rid of him. Their reply, quote, “We can’t imagine Law and Order without you.” EN has reached out to NBC and Wolf Entertainment for comment and has not yet heard back.
