Georgie & Mandy Cast on Pressure of Being TV’s No. 1 New Comedy and Dreams of a Dolly Parton Cameo!
Season two is great. I mean, we’re really getting into the meat of it here. Let’s see. Well, how can I get you excited? Come back and uh and and see Georgie and and Ruben run this run this store and and try to figure out how to create a business. And uh come back and see Georgie get upset about Mandy her new her new found fame of of uh the weather girl. And Georgie is not a fan of that cuz she’s getting a lot of attention now. Oh, what’s all this? I’m trying to do the books for the store. Oh, I thought it was some kind of roleplay thing. You know, strict accountant, hot girl in debt. Georgie and Mandy’s first marriage is about to hit a rough patch tonight on CBS. And the pressure is on since the first season earned the title of number one broadcast comedy. Wow. Number one, huh? We had big shoes to fill with the with the first season of this show and uh you know so I guess I guess there was a little bit of pressure especially with the audience now. It’s it’s a it’s an energy that you can’t explain unless you’ve been in it. Remember when you were pregnant your ankles look like water balloons just rough. We’re really lucky that um we love it so much and we get to spend our days every single day together and get to make each other laugh. It’s it’s the best job ever. In the spin-off, The Newlyweds, plus their daughter, Cece, try to make it all work despite their 12-year age gap and still living with Mandy’s family. CeCe’s growing up, and I’m sure she’ll be in school soon. I’m excited for that story line. Um, and Jim’s retired, which is hysterical to have him at home all the time. And, um, everybody’s finding their groove while still living under the same roof. So, it’s just more hilarious. There’s definitely um you know some some difficult themes that are coming into play for Georgie and Mandy cuz he’s dealing with a little bit of her past and she’s a little older so she has more of a past as we’ve mentioned before and he’s finding a way to to you know reckon with that a little bit. You Scott? Yeah. I’m Mandy’s husband. We got Chris Gorum. um which is Mandy’s freaking goodlooking ex-husband. He keeps showing up again. And um who else do we have? I don’t know. But I wish we could say we had Dolly Parton, but we ain’t got her yet. But one day, one day. Everybody wants it to happen. I know. I’ve been pushing it. No Dolly yet, but other guest stars do include some young Sheldon cameos, including Zoe Perry, who plays Georgie’s mom, Mary. Having Zoe back and Reagan Revort and and Annie Pots and you know, look, the the whole the whole crew from from YoungSheldon, it’s special. It’s sort of like the the old all the shows are on a cruise together and uh the Different Strokes kids meet the Facts of Life kids. And of course, Zoe is so incredible, you know, in the in the in the role of Mary. She is out. Soft kitty works every time. Zoe is the best. She’s uh I’ve told her this since the very beginning. She’s she’s very professional and good at what she does and and uh I’m constantly looking trying to look over her shoulder and you know taking all the notes I can when she’s around. I love Zoe. I love every time she’s here. We have so much fun with her. She’s just she’s such a rock star and and she’s just so Nobody else can do this role but her. I mean, she’s just perfect. What is it like seeing Mary enter the dating world again? I love that for Mary. I love that she’s getting back out there. Um, obviously it hits Georgie a little hard, but I love that everybody else is sort of rousing around her to get behind her to get her sort of, you know, back on her feet with that kind of thing. You hear this blasphemy? He don’t like it. He don’t like it. Rightfully so. He uh you know, his father just passed not long ago and he’s he’s still mourning from that and and um you know, he just he just might not realize that his mom um he still she still loves his father very much, but uh you know, she’s got to she’s got to move on. Maybe she would like some male companionship. She’s got Jesus. Her dance court’s full. And in real life, Montana’s a newlywed of his own. He and his wife, Jenna, threw a classic cowboy themed wedding back in June, which included their one-year-old daughter, Emma. What was your favorite part about that wonderful day? Oh, really? Just seeing my wife smile. That’s all it was. It was it was her day and uh I wanted it to be very special for her. It wasn’t didn’t have nothing to do with me. It was all about her. So, and what has been your favorite part about this wedding life, this marriage bliss? Oh, everything about it. It’s just been uh headache after headache. And No, I’m just kidding. So, no, I’ve enjoyed it. Uh, she’s a she’s a very good life partner and she makes me a better person every day. Montana is an incredible young man and also a thousand years old at the same time. And it was really, really, it was wonderful to see where Montana comes from, the people that make up his amazing family and Jenna’s amazing family. And it makes us all feel crappy about who we were at the age of, you know, 22, 23. He’s just so ready for it. I don’t know if there’s anything you can put in front of Montana that he’s just not going to crush. And that was the most beautiful wedding. And I’m just I love watching them become parents, too. I mean, it’s just Emma’s just the cutest thing in the whole world. She’s a year and a half now. And uh she’s to the point to where just about any word we try to get her to say, she’ll try to say it. You know, she’s got a good handful of handful of words that she’s really good at saying so far. Um, and she is screaming them every second she gets. But, uh, yeah, she comes up here every Tuesday and I’m gonna have to get me some some sound sound deadening stuff for my room up there so they can’t hear while they’re filming. I want about five or six of my wife will give them to me. Hey, maybe while mommy’s gone, we’ll see a bunny rabbit. Oh, knock it off. Has Emma goten the chance to meet the girls who play Cece yet? Not yet. They have. I know. I know. We’ve been trying to set something up out of work or in work, whatever. Um, but no, it hadn’t happened yet. But they’re I know they’re going to love each other when they do meet. The girls who play Cece are Nia and Danny from The Valley’s Twins. Our identical twin girls are little actresses. They actually play one baby on a hit CBS TV show. They have their own parking spot. They actually have their own trailer. I didn’t know that when they first come on here um until my wife told me that that that’s who they are. They’re very talented people and they uh they’re very lovely people in real life. They really are. They’re very I tell my wife she’s this the the mama she she is very to have one she’s got one strapped on her because they just had a brand new baby. She’s got one strapped on her and running twi running around trying to get twins to do what they’re doing on set and uh she’s a she’s a warrior. When they go on set we like to try to see who’s kind of feeling it, who wants to stay and play quote unquote play. That’s what we call it for them. Who wants to play a little bit more? So Zariah, this one right here, was actually offset with me while Isabelle was on set today. But at the end of the day, Zariah kept saying, “Me, me. I want to go back on set.” So it was really cute that both of them wanted to play or work today. I’ve actually never seen The Valley, but I really need to start. Although it might be weird if I watch it and then they’re here. I don’t know, maybe I should just let that go. I’m Stavros. I’m dating Ashley. I actually um I worked with Daniel like years and years and years ago on Hannah Montana. He was a guest star and the first time first day he got here with the girls I I recognized him from that and didn’t realize that he was also on reality show. But I think that’s what most people know him from is the Valley. But they’re just the sweetest. And those girls are so sweet. And they have another kid now, too. They have four. They’ve actually been working with this crew, this cast since they were 5 and 1/2 months old when they first started on YoungSheldon. They’re getting a little bit older, so it’s it’s not it’s not as big of a hurdle when they get here and they it doesn’t take them as long to remember us, which is great. And um they prefer me. I’m just going to say that. Uh which is great. Really boosts my ego. Um but it’s just wonderful. They’re they’re so sweet and uh they like all the vintage toys that we have cuz all the toys are ’90s toys and they’re just think they’re the coolest things ever. Don’t worry about it. They’ll be fine. Mary, Kate, and Ashley are billionaires. [Music]
