‘Survivor 49’s Jawan Pitts reveals he’s in ‘therapy’ over black players’ eliminations
just to step back and look at the optics of the jury. And I just want to kind of like hold space for that for a moment and maybe anybody that’s watching it and feeling uncomfortable. Um, I want their feelings to feel validated and also more specifically with MC too. I want to like hold space for her hurt feelings, but I think I want to use this time to like share some insight into like why I made those decisions. Um, every decision I made out there was about my family. I’m a broke dude from South Jersey. I live in LA. My bills do not stop, but I just thought this was my one opportunity to um have a safety net for my siblings, you know. So, every decision I made moving forward um I put that to that scale. So, I think before I jump back to Alex, I want to mainly talk about the MC vote, which I think changed my game, unfortunately, not for the better. Um, when MC comes to me and talks, she really confides in me. She’s like, “Hey, I do not want to see another black person on the jury.” And I was like, “Hey, thank you so much. I appreciate you.” I think at that point, I took matters in my own hands not to target MC. I was like, “I want to make sure me and her see another day.” So, I go back to Sage and I’m like, my number one who just saved me on the Shannon boot. I’m like, “Hey, please help me. Like, this is the problem I’m having. like, can we stack votes on yellow Sophie and get her out tonight? And there’s a world where if that boat doesn’t come with Savannah, that happens. Um, but when Savannah came over, it was my worst nightmare. I just blindsided her and Rizzo. And Savannah was being extra nice to me around the camp that day. I was like, “Oh no, I’m cooked. She’s never been this nice to me before.” You know? So, I think her presence really changed the air. And there was a big tug-of-war between MC or um Rizzo and Savannah really fighting to keep uh Sophie and my number one who also liked Sophie too cuz they have an out of game uh alternate story that I wasn’t even aware of, right? So I I was the only one trying to pull for MC to stay and MC wanted to have the votes and I told her I’m like, “Yo, you have please play your shot in the dark.” I think we just didn’t have enough trust built at that point. So, that’s a long me rambling, but I just wanted to give some insight into that vote and how it affected the Alex vote. Yeah, I appreciate you saying that because I obviously spoke to MC two weeks ago and she opened up about the conversation that you guys had that wasn’t fully aired and that was hurt by you. So, I appreciate you saying that and also it’s a game and there’s real life stuff that goes on and it’s it’s it’s a hard it’s a fine line and so I appreciate you just saying that. Seriously. Yeah. Thank thank you for giving me the the chance to talk about that. Um, I want to talk about the Alex vote, too, because I think it’s like really connected, too. So, when I get back, I have to do damage control. I have to talk to Christina. I’m like, “Hey, I am so sorry about what happened.” Um, I had to go into survival mode because Savannah’s boat came over, but there like if the boat doesn’t come over, the plan was to get Rizzo. Um, and then uh I I tell her, I’m like, “Please do not tell nobody.” So, when I wake up in the morning, the first person to talk to me was Rizzo. He He’s kind of mad, too. He was like, “Bro, you’re going to take me out?” I was like, “What?” I was like, “Who told you that?” And he said, “Alex told me.” And in my head, I’m like, “That doesn’t make sense.” But I’m like I’m kind of pissed. So, I go back and I double back with Alex. This doesn’t make the air. I go and talk to him by the water well. I’m like, “Hey, bro, you were you told about the plan.” And he was like, “What? No.” Um, and he says something that kind of like hit me to my core. He was like, “Everyone’s saying your name Jawan.” I’m like, “Who is everyone?” and he said, “Don’t worry about it. I can’t tell you um everyone’s saying your name.” And I feel like I wish I had a time machine to go back at that moment and be like, “Alex, if you don’t give me a name, bro, I want to think it’s you.” Cuz at that point, I thought Alex was a really give him some flowers, he was really moving and shaking out there. I think he was one of the most triple threat, you know, competitors out there. But I did notice he had relationships with everybody. So at that point when I talked to Sage, we don’t know that Sophie B has a knowledgeist power. We don’t know that Savannah has an extra vote. We just think it’s a six to3 majority with Rizzo flashing his idol. I thought we had more time. And um honestly, I did want Rizzo at that point, but uh Sage brought up a good idea that like by taking out Alex there, we would lull Rizzo and Savannah into a false sense of security. And it happens technically before Savannah gets or Yellow Sophie gets back to Savannah and Rizzo. They thought that we were with them. So, and I think that’s kind of why Savannah doesn’t like win like she normally does because they were at at peace. So, I just want to give some context and again hold space from the optics. But I want you to know my percept uh my uh my heart. I just wanted to win for my family. Again, thank you for sharing that. I appreciate that because you know I know that there’s been kind of a spotlight now on the fact that multiple black players have been voted out and the entire jury at this point heading into the next episode is all black players. So what is your feelings about how that’s kind of become there’s been a spotlight on that both from you guys out there but also from the viewers now as we’re watching week by week. How are you feeling about that? Yeah. Yeah. First off like it it was a topic of discussion out there like me and Christina had a back and forth about it, you know. Um I I think as a viewer it’s hard to watch you know like you know when it happened to 42 I definitely you know you know I’m a part of the community too so I definitely felt it but I think in the game it was so hard to put a a pin on it you know and even experience it experience it I’m going to therapy to tr truly kind of process I’m like what why why did that happen you know but I will say at least from my perspective and I can only speak on me. I don’t think there was any alternative motives. I think the game was so fluid and there were so many things, so advantages, variables. So, I think that’s how I feel personally.
Jawan Pitts is still reeling from his experience on “Survivor 49.”
The 28-year-old video editor became the fourth black player voted off in a row during Wednesday night’s episode — which he’s still processing months after filming ended.
“First off, it was a topic of discussion out there,” Pitts exclusively told The Post on Monday. “Me and Kristina [Mills] had a back and forth about it.”

they don't want equal rights, they want special treatment
Ghetto black people
"Im a victim"… Waaaa Waaaaa
There is some integrity in losing with grace.
I stopped watching this show at least 10 years ago. Because the blax on 2 consecutive seasons said" how about blak against white. I am sick of racist blax. Who cares?
4 white people were voted out before the first black person. That’s racist too I guess
This is an example of why traditional fathers are important in the life of a child. Without, results in such an emotional child regardless of age.
N fatigue is beyond tiresome
What about all the white people that didn’t even make the jury? Like Shannon right before the
merge.
When you go around constantly looking to be offended you'll seldom be disappointed.
This seeming trend recently of playing along racial lines nearly, IMO, destroyed Big Brother. If Jawan made decisions in the game appropriately based on his OWN advancement as he perceived that, and is now recriminating himself based on racial identity — he is a FOOL.

What about the cookout on bb and than survivor
Stop crying on the internet.
Another example of false expectations hitting the windshield!
Give ur ⚽⚽ a tug
Survivor should cut down the number of black players. Because they all seem entitled to the money, solely because of their skin color. And MC and Jawan, this is not Obama’s second term again, when this bs was forced on the whole western world.
Trying to set up another frivolous lawsuit
As soon as there's talk of "I don't want to see another black person on the jury" the game's outcome is influenced by race. As soon as you say that, a line has been drawn in the sand. So if one side is influenced by race, in the context of the game, wouldn't it make sense then to eliminate the players of African descent if there are those playing a racially motivated game?
Call for a waaaaambulance! His feelers were hurt. Poor thing. Lie is hard when you are a proessional victim.
Forget the fact that you aren’t in therapy for everything you went through on Survivor…you are in therapy for black people eliminated on the show…weak man, very weak.
These comments prove just how racist this show and its viewers are. Statistically there have been more white players than POC players by a lot, and statistically (facts people) show that black contestants are often voted off earlier than white contestants. And the viewers (mostly white) think it’s nothing because they see nothing wrong. Embarrassing.
