Jessica Simpson Reveals What Saved Her Life During “Really Hard Time” | E! News

Jessica Simpson is reflecting on a really hard chapter in her life and what ultimately saved her. Speaking at Foxwoods in Connecticut December 7th, Jessica says, “In a really hard time of my life, I just kind of had to surrender myself to my intuition to the light that was in front of me and just focus on that.” Regarding the difficulties with her career, the singer says, “My whole music career, you know, I had a job and it was to be a pop star and I tried. [Applause] But I will say when you’re younger, you just never feel good enough.” But she has a message for her audience. And it’s okay to not feel good enough. I want everyone to have grace for themselves when you just don’t feel good enough sometimes. But I’m very good at convincing myself that my purpose is bigger than the moment that I’m in. She then ties the message into the meaning for her new song, Breadcrumbs. So when I wrote this next song, it felt like through the last 15 years of not singing, I had left these breadcrumbs to walt myself back to the throne that I belong. [Music]

Jessica Simpson spoke about a “really hard time” in her life at a Foxwoods Resort Casino concert in Mashantucket, Connecticut Dec. 6. 11 months after her split from Eric Johnson, the mom of Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, Ace Knute, and Birdie Mae detailed her self-doubt, explaining she ultimately had to learn to surrender to her “intuition, to the light that was in front of me.”
