Lily Reinhardt is opening up about her recent endometriosis diagnosis. Lily revealing in an Instagram post on Thursday, December 11th, that she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a reproductive condition in which tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of the uterus in other parts of the body, causing cramping, chronic pain, and scar tissue. Lily posting this series of photos alongside a caption detailing her journey towards her diagnosis, saying she saw multiple urologists and gynecologists before being officially diagnosed, writing, “Not one of them seriously considered endometriosis as the underlying cause of what I was experiencing. It wasn’t until I worked with two different pelvic floor therapists that the word endometriosis was even mentioned to me as a possible source of my pain.” The Riverdale star says after meeting with an endometriosis specialist, she decided to undergo laparoscopic surgery. Lily riding postsurgery, I don’t remember taking this horrible photo, but I think I wanted to capture a moment of postsurgery validation. The second I saw my doctor, I asked, “Did you find it?” And he said, “We found Endo.” And I felt so validated and relieved that I chose to listen to my body and pursue this surgery. Lily adding, “The most important thing I have taken away from this experience is the absolute need to advocate for your own health. Do not let a doctor gaslight you or diminish your pain.” Lily joins a growing list of celebrities who’ve been outspoken about their endometriosis diagnosis, including Bindy Irwin, Lena Dunham, and Hollyy. Hello 👋 e news.
No need to tell the world. Keep some things to yourself.
That’s her business, idk why she told us.
That's so sad that she has that diagnosis. It can make having kids impossible if she wants them. She now has to adopt or have a surrogate if she ever wants kids. If she doesn't, that's fine too.
I am from Slovenia and I am grateful for this news, because I also spent three years, changing three gynecologists, to finally get a diagnosis of endometriosis. I have to have a complete hysterectomy.
And it's nice to know you're not alone with these problems.
