Rob Reiner’s Friend Details Staying in His Home With Nick Reiner | E! News

Cinematographer Barry Marowitz is reflecting on the last time he spent with director and close friend Rob Reiner. Barry telling Page 6, December 16th in a phone interview that he recently stayed with Rob and his wife Michelle at their home for 5 days per their request while he was in town for the November 14th premiere of his latest film, The Perfect Gamble, starring David Arette. I may have been one of the last people to see them, Barry recalls, saying he saw their 32-year-old son, Nick, who looked great. He was sitting and talking with the family. They eat dinner together, old [music] school, and a lot of love. Always a lot of love. Barry recalled Nick going out to play tennis and basketball during his stay, but says he never feared for his safety and that Nick was very present, taking out the garbage, washing dishes, and even watching TV with the family. [music] I think what's puzzling the most, the 360, is that there was so much love and it doesn't jive. I'm not here to judge anyone. L OV is the only thing I saw and I don't think it was fake. They had a real bond. Rob and Michelle never gave up on their son Nick during his very public battle with drug addiction over the years, Barry said, adding, "They tried a million things with him. Not giving him money, but sending him to the topofthe-line places. Rob never gave up. He tried everything. If you knew Rob, he was just a bundle of love.

    1. 🕊️😔😟💔I’m been watching Charlie Sheens documentary and his battle with addiction and mental health that he has been through and his father’s love and trying to get him back on track. There are so many families out their hurting because of addiction and mental health among other things. 😢 This is just heartbreaking 💔 🙏🏾

    2. Yeah…always a lot of "love". What a crock. That's why your kid stabs you to death. Way to go, Rob. Great parenting. And you had the nerve to tell other people how they ought to live.

    3. He is wrong…. He is NOT one of the last people to see them. Such a stupid thing to say considering he stayed at their home around November 14th. Duh.

    4. Many thoughts and prayers for the family of Rob Reiner and his wife who was tragically killed by their son. My dad’s middle name happened to be Norman . It’s not fair to see a brilliant man’s life ended in such a terrible way. He and his wife will be extremely missed by many.

    5. I am surprised with a knowledgeable group of humans that no one provided immediate help to “bring him down”. Certainly sounds as if he were outside his mind and needed help; must’ve been a very important party. AFTER the peaking and freaking subsided there would have been opportunity to get another chance for help. Seems all that nurturing and compassionate empathy wasn’t utilized at a most crucial moment; even had their son hurt himself there WAS opportunity to change that manner in which he was approached. THAT moment the old saying of “their needing our understanding, not our criticism “. I’m thinking he may have been able to come down from his immediate troubles

    6. Well Nick Reiner won’t be able to hire greasy lying attorneys Johhny Cochran and F. Lee Bailey to get him off these murder charges!!!!!

    7. Rob & Michele did not do everything that they could. Though Rob "believed in the teachings of Jesus", he did not understand nor did he know Christ. This avenue was not explored and in typical Hollywood manner, it would be anathema to even consider that Nick has demons that posses him and that the only path through them is through Christ.
