Noah Schnapp Is Grateful ‘Stranger Things’ Gave Him Best Friend Millie Bobby Brown

    (audience cheering)
    – This, this little 90's progressive number, I love it. – Wait, I love the whole set up. – I know, we gave Christmas to you. – I'm such a fan, I love Kelly Clarkson! – Oh, my God, well, thank you! – Thank you for having me on.
    – Thank you, that makes me feel really good. All right, so you grew up around here, but I hear that your
family was pretty smart. Y'all didn't come into
town for the holidays? – Yeah, I mean, we made
sure to spend the holidays together as a family, but no, we didn't really go into the craziness. – Because it's crazy. – [Noah] It gets crazy, yeah. – Yeah. – Especially with the tree lighting. – I know. Once it's lit it's over. – [Noah] Yeah, yeah, yeah. – It's just a mob of people. – But I did listen to
"Underneath The Tree" every holiday season. – [Kelly] Thank you.
    – Yeah. – I knew I liked you.
(audience applauding) So wait, so are your New
Years going to be spent watching the final episode? – Trying to avoid the
tears on New Years Eve, – [Kelly] Yeah. – I'd like to enjoy the night out and then the next day,
going to watch it, yeah. – I know, what was shooting
the final scene like? – Oh, man, that episode is- – You're young, this has been
most of your life so far. – It's like all I've kind of ever known and saying goodbye was really hard. – [Kelly] Yeah. – That last day was tough, but um- – I know, I just can't
imagine being that young starting something, like
you were literally like, were you 11?
    – I was 10. – No, you were 10?
    – I was the youngest. – I was going to say, that's my kids age, and I can't imagine them
starting something like that. That's your second family. – I look back and I'm like, "Dang, like, how did I do that? I was so little." – Youth. (Kelly laughing) Okay, Winona Ryder, she
plays your mom, right? So that has to be kind of cool, working with someone that's been in the
industry as well, so long. – Oh, my gosh, she is an icon. I, I actually didn't know
her when I first started because I was so young.
    – [Kelly] Young, yeah. – And uncultured. – Not uncultured, you were young. That's my generation, yeah. – But my parents were like, "Noah, you need to know, how
do you not know who this is? Who you're working with?" – So embarrassing. – Like, I'd just worked on
this movie with Tom Hanks, I had no idea who he was, because I was like, 9.
    – Oh, my God! That is incredible. – My parents were like, "Noah, like, learn your (bleeping)." – I don't, that's not fair though, because it's like, also,
you were really young. – Well, now I look back and I'm like, "What an idiot." Like I wasn't, I had no
idea who I was around, all these amazing people. – He probably enjoyed it,
you know what I'm saying? It's kind of nice, you know? Like, sometimes, when people don't, I think that's cool, yeah. – But I did my research.
    – You're not supposed to. – I watched, like, all
her movies last year and now I'm like a super fan, which is honestly, probably
better that I didn't do it during filming, because
I'm such a fan of her now, I'm like, you know, you see
someone kind of different. – No, it's definitely
better that you don't. But this job has been so
cool for you in a sense too, of like, you really get
to travel the world, like y'all have been all over
with this press right now. Like, Germany, like
France, like everywhere. Italy, Japan, what's like a favorite spot? – Oh, man, I think the
coolest is getting to go so far across the globe and
still like feel that love and see like people
really resonate with it all the way over there. – [Kelly] Yeah. – Oh, that's in London, it was so fun. With our London premiere,
me and Millie were like, "This is our last one, we
have to go in together." And we made sure to drive
in and spend the whole night by each other's sides.
    – [Kelly] Take it in. – Because I'm so grateful for the show because it gave me that friendship that's like a real best friend, you know? – That's why I'm happy for you, too. (audience applauding) – Yeah. – Because I've had so
many of y'all on the show and everyone has such a great
head on their shoulders, they're just like solid, good humans. And like, this industry,
it can be very hard. – Yeah. – To find people that are that grounded and you really can actually develop quality relationships with.
    – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – So I'm so happy for
y'all that you all get that from the jump, you know?
    – [Noah] So lucky. And had all these other kids on the show. – Yeah, I know, that's like, forever in debt to the
show for not just Millie, but introducing me to all these people that are family now. – Yeah, it's so cool and
you're all so talented in different areas as well, so here's another moment I had to share, because you got carried away with a fan when you were on stage doing press. This is pretty great. Hold on, rock, paper, scissors. You notice it. And here we go! (Kelly laughing) – [Crowd Member] Yes! I won! Sorry. – I love that you were
playing Rock, Paper, Scissors during a question. – Because we do these panels, you know, like, we've done like a thousand of these, where they ask like the same thing. (audience applauding) – This is my favorite thing.
    – And I won! I won. – I know we can be friends by two things, one, you were like, "Well,
this seems more fun." And then two, you had the
excitement of when you won? – Yeah, I know, I get pretty competitive. – I know, me too. I just thought that that was amazing. I also felt like we should finish this off with a Rock, Paper, Scissors,
like two out of three. – Oh, shoot, okay. – And whoever loses has to read us out. You're going to be Ron
Burgundy if you lose. – [Kelly And Noah] Rock,
paper, scissors, shoot. – Damn! Two out of three, okay. – [Kelly And Noah] Rock,
    paper, scissors, shoot. – Damn!
(Noah yelling triumphantly) (audience applauding) (Kelly laughing) All right, I'm used to it anyway. Let's take another break. The three episode part two of Season Five of "Stranger Things" premieres on Netflix on Christmas Day. And the last episode ever is in theaters and on Netflix on New Years Eve.

Noah Schnapp opens up about saying goodbye to his hit Netflix series “Stranger Things,” including how he plans to watch the final episode. Noah also shares his appreciation for the show introducing him to lifelong friends, including co-star Millie Bobby Brown, and dishes on becoming a Winona Ryder superfan after watching all of her movies.

    1. I genuinely love Noah so much, he's such a sweet, smart, funny talented man who is beyond talented. Also, as a gay girl I feel like so seen by Will's character in ST and noah himself portrays that SO well and he has also said such comforting things about sexuality and being queer. Also so cool that he's graduating from Penn this year! I wish him the best truly he seems like such a sweetheart. Happy holidays everybody! <3

    2. To all LGBT+ Gen Alphas:

Live your truth. Hold your head up high, be you, and know that you are loved JUST AS YOU ARE.

Do not let the voices of intolerance and hate stop you. You are stronger than you can imagine. Your best defense against those who would do you harm is to KEEP BEING YOURSELF.

      You are never alone.

And never, ever, let anyone twist the teachings of Jesus to tell you that your identity is wrong. The message Jesus preached over and over was to love our neighbors as ourselves. To treat others as we would want them to treat us.

God made you in his image. You are not a mistake. Anyone who tells you that is a liar and a blasphemer.

I am a gay Christian GenXer who grew up in a non-accepting military environment in the 80s. I wish my generation had had a Noah.

God bless this young man. And God bless every one of you. This GenXer will never stop fighting for you.

    3. Here’s my idea:
Form a musical super-group side project with the whole cast, release an album every 5 years, and have the Duffers direct the videos. Have the songwriters start the musical ideas, then everyone can pitch in to help complete each song.
      Maybe call them The Strangers.

    4. 0:48 Let him talk ffs?! Why ask him a question, then talk over him as he tries to answer said question?? I like ya Kelly, but it's annoying af that you seem unable to listen and not interrupt your guests. 🤦‍♀️

    5. 4:21 Man that's such a clear sign of true competitive nature and also being comfortable around Kelly ahahaha, the stand up and scream then polite clap for her loss 🤣

    6. Hope he books more roles in the future. He's very talented for sure. Don't understand the hate he gets. I'm mentally preparing myself for vol2 never want ST to ever end but all good things must end ❤
