Why Ethan Hawke Believes Acting Saved His Daughter Maya Hawke’s Life | E! News
Ethan Hawk has regrets over his daughter’s childhood. In the December 11th episode of Variety and CNN’s Actors on Actor series, Ethan details having remorse over what his now 27year-old daughter Maya Hawk experienced growing up, [music] saying there were a lot of things about her childhood that were really, really hard and complicated and things I regret for her. [music] Ethan later adding of the Stranger Things actress’s childhood, “I never worried about her going into the arts because I knew that was going to save her life.” Ethan shares Maya as well as 23-year-old son Leavonne with ex-wife Uma Thurman. [music] The former couple first met on set of the 1997 film Gatka, tying the knot just a year later. However, they went through a messy divorce in 2005, which included multiple allegations of infidelity. with Ethan recently sharing how he tries to protect his kids from the fallout of the highly publicized split. Telling the Los Angeles Times last month, “The public eye is like gasoline, but what makes divorce hard is the stuff that makes it hard for everyone. The family elements, how to help the kids through it. I’m so envious of people who have amicable splits. I can’t really talk about this because I vowed to my kids so many times to not talk about the divorce in public.
Ethan Hawke shared insight into what he said saved daughter Maya’s life.
