Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner’s official causes of death are revealed. On December 19th, the County of Los Angeles medical examiner announced the pair’s cause of death as multiple sharp force injuries and their manner of death is listed as homicide. [music] LAPD had been called to the home of Rob and Michelle on December 14th where they discovered two bodies later identified as the director and his wife which had suffered stab wounds. According to NBC News, the following day, LAPD confirmed Rob and Michelle were the quote victims of homicide and that an investigation led to authorities determining their son, Nick Reiner, was quote responsible for their deaths. According to a December 15th press release, Nick, according to the release, was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder on the evening of December 14th and remanded into custody without bail. [music] On December 17th, he made his first appearance in court along with his attorney, Alan Jackson. [music] In the wake of the tragedy, Rob and Michelle’s loved ones, which includes kids Jake Reiner and Romy Reiner, confirmed their deaths, adding in a statement to Variety, “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.” Meanwhile, Rob’s eldest daughter, Tracy Reiner, who he shared with late ex-wife Penny Marshall, reflected on life with the director, whom she said she had last seen just the day before.
