Amanda Cyred is making it clear that she is not apologizing for calling Charlie Kirk hateful. After Charlie Kirk died, Amanda commented on a post from so informed that shared a lot of quotes from Charlie Kirk. In the comment section, she says he was hateful, but Amanda got some backlash for her comment at the time. So, she shared her own post on Instagram. She says, “I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and also very much agree that Charlie Kirk’s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable.” She says no one should have to experience this level of violence. And she asks if we can all agree that this country is grieving far too many senseless and violent deaths. And now she’s opening up about the backlash she received in a new interview with Who, what, where. Amanda revealed that after she left this comment on So Informed’s page, she debated deleting it, but eventually decided against it. Then the backlash began, and she started getting texts from family and friends who were concerned for her well-being because of the comment. And instead of backing down, that’s when she decided to share this message on her Instagram. But Amanda makes it clear that she is not apologizing for her comment. She says, “For f’s sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage in actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I’m free to have an opinion, of course.” She also says she’s thankful for Instagram because she was able to give some clarity, and it was about her getting her voice back because she felt like it had been stolen from her and recontextualized, which is what people do.
