Anthony Hopkins Marks 50 Years Sober With Message to Those Struggling | E! News
Anthony Hopkins marked 50 years of sobriety by encouraging anyone struggling with alcohol to “choose life instead of the opposite.” Hopkins, 87, revealed in the video that he almost killed himself by driving his car during a drunken blackout. “I realized at that point that I was having too much fun. It was called alcoholism,” he said. The ‘Silence of the Lambs’ actor noted that since he will be turning 88 years old on Dec. 31, “maybe I did something right.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1426684/anthony-hopkins-50-years-sober-message-to-fans

He'd be dead by now if he hadn't quit. Congratulations to Anthony Hopkins! I've been sober for 44 years, and I have no doubt that had I not quit drinking, I'd have died long ago, and I might have injured others before my life ended.
If you are wondering if you're an alcoholic, then you probably are. Quitting is never as hard as you expect it to be. Don't think about it while having another drink. Just quit and life will be 10,000 times better, guaranteed.
🎉great accomplishment, some people never get sober ,they become dry drunks ,but if you changed the behavior along with not drinking you must be a pleasure to be around congratulations Enjoy life I’ve enjoyed you on screen continue your journey with much love and respect❤
Congratulations, I was 29 when I got sober. I also got your latest book the day it came out. Keep doing what you do because its working. 🙂
