In a candid new essay for The Cut titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,” the ‘High School Musical’ alum revealed why she decided to walk away from a circle of mom friends that left her feeling excluded. Ashley, who shares daughters Jupiter and Emerson, with husband Chris French, wrote that she initially thought she had found her village. But things changed when she noticed group hangouts being posted on Instagram without her. She admitted, “All of a sudden, I was in high school again.” Ultimately, Ashley ended things with a blunt text: “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.” Though Ashley doesn’t name names, she’s been photographed with celeb moms including Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. Hang out with people who don't have kids!!!! We aren't as anal!!!! Ya'll think when you have a baby you can only hang out with other people who also have children…….that's not the case!!!!!
So proud of Ashley for bringing attention to this HUGE issue. Schools need to better support moms and proactively address this. It should be on their promotional material and not just paying Lip Service. Parochial schools are Notorious offenders!
