Marilyn most have had tougher upbringing. but oh boy what a glamorous and intelligent actress she was. Tom Ewell what an actor and gentleman.we don’t see people like that anymore so sad how everything has gone today
When making Some like it Hot, it toor her 42 takes to say four words correctly. She was wonderful to look at ,but I'm sure was exasperating to work with. I grew up watching her films. I was nine years old when the Seven Year Itch came out.
I thought her best friend was mr greene's wife? If I had known her, Id say were gonna give you the best birthday party ever. Let me plan it!! And I would have.
There's a book out that notes M was murdered > by the K*nnedys. She was used by them, then discarded, then she made a terrible mistake: in her anger, she told them she planned to expose them. That was her 'death sentence'. I don't doubt it for one minute.
Regarding her supposed lack of friends, here is what the web says: "Marilyn Monroe and Peter Lawford were close friends and confidants within the Hollywood elite, with Lawford often acting as a key intermediary between Monroe and the Kennedy family. As a member of the Rat Pack and brother-in-law to JFK, Lawford frequented the same social circles as Monroe, providing her with a social outlet. He was one of the last people to speak with her before her death in August 1962." A long-departed dear friend of mine was also close buddies with Lawford; he mentioned hanging out with Marilyn several times in both relaxed and social settings to me.
From memory, I once read that Billy Wilder wanted Walter Matthau for the role Tom played, but studio didnt! Personally, he would've been better than Tom.
If you've never seen 'The Seven Year Itch' treat yourself! MM actually was a fine actress in her many fims. She is forever that gorgeous mysterious 36-year-old in the movie posters!

"70 takes, it was the minimum" all the rumors about Marilyn were true.
Don Murray was just as kind about Marilyn.
Monroe was a pathetic creature. Those crossroads Demons are a bitch.
Forgot that was a Wilder movie, no wonder it is such a classic.
The Seven Year Itch ended her marriage to Joe DiMaggio.
She didn't have any friends because they were jealous

He was so good in that film. Imagine having to do all those takes and still shine to that degree.

What the hell does anyone need 70 takes?
Speaking well of others is a virtue. Our culture needs more of it.

Who is the interviewer? I've forgotten his name.
I have a feeling marilyn was annoying to be around with for too long.
