She couldn't be any more correct. That one word exists in my head rent free on loop. If there is any song that worms it's way into my head it's you'll be back performed by Mr. Groff
It's actually true that the English accent has changed from dramatically from the 18th century. Linguist believe that the English accent of the period would probably sound like a modern New Yorker. George III would have been further complicated by his families Hanoverian roots.
I genuinely believe his performance as King George will go down as his most recognizable role. He IS King George, and idk if anyone could nail You’ll be Back the way he did
The first King George I saw in Hamilton was Rory O’Malley during the first national tour. Jonathan made the role so iconic that everyone roared with applause and laughter before any King George on stage sings a single note. ❤
The way he pronounces everything as King George is such an ear worm and with his insane, completely sadistic performance – I can’t stop going back to watch it whenever I’m reminded of it

Absolutely INSANE that he knew nothing about the role he played so well
FR, no matter how many times I've seen that scene/song I get sent into the stratosphere every time, he's so good

I’m sorry, Lin asked you to play KING GEORGE III and you didn’t know you’d need to do an English accent?

I LOVE how he is able to laugh at himself. I can't get enough of this interview ❤
This podcast is borderline unwatchable
King George III wasn't British, he was South African, this is canon

As a Brit, I love his English accent. It’s great
