Emily browning was so the era but I don’t think was the best choice. Rory Gilmore will always be Rory. Elliot would have been a great one, but I think Kristin’s performance made Bella come to life.
Little known fact: they also contacted Frances Bean Cobain —who was 15 at the time— after seeing her picture in a magazine, but Courtney Love claimed she was too young to be in a franchise like that so Frances didn’t end up playing her. Also, I love Kristen but omgggg Ellen/Elliott would’ve been AMAZINGGGG as Bella I would’ve loved that!!! I feel like she would’ve done a good job as the og smartass Book Bella.
Only Anna Paquin would have been a good alternative choice. None of the others would have brought the right energy to the role. Some of those actresses are amazing, but just completely wrong for the part.
I would have liked to have seen literally ANYONE else as Bella. I'm sorry not sorry but I cannot stand Kristen's acting like not even a little bit. Especially as Bella. She's gotten better since playing Bella but that's me only considering 2 roles that I could actually tolerate her in. Happiest Season and The Runaways. 🤷♀️
Yoooo, Elliot is from my province! One of our many talented artists. He probably would have done that role SO well back then, never knew he was considered.
Elizabeth Olsen India Eisley Vanessa Hudgens Camilla Belle (who always played a bit frustrating idk if tha was acting skills or not but probably equally awkward as Kristen as Bella) Maybe Elle Fanning
if you‘ve been on tumblr at that time you‘d only see emily browning and gaspard ulliel in every single fan edit (sometimes tom sturridge too, but it was mainly emily browning and gaspard);
I liked that they chose actors who weren't overly known from previous work. Had they chosen an A-lister like Rachel McAdams I think the world created within the movies hadn't felt as immersive. New successful movie trilogies require some newer faces, in my opinion. The first Twilight movie did feel a lot like a indie-movie in a lot of ways, before it kicked off as well. I really do think Kristen Stewart was the right casting choice.
I don't think twilight would have felt the way that it did if Kirsten wouldn't have played Bella. The vibe would have been totally different and I actually really enjoyed how she tackled the role. The awkwardness would likely not have been there the same way if another actor would have played her.
elliott would have done a great job fot sure because he was a lesbian heartthrob in his teens, but i wouldn't wish what kristen went through on a closeted trans man at the time.

Daniella for me. Had a huge crush on her from Sky High
Love twilight but I hated Kristen as bella
I can’t even imagine the chaos that Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson would have caused on set!
THANK GAWWWD Danielle Panabaker was cast. That would have been 5× worse to watch 😂
I love how Anna paquin went on to have her own vampire show and not "the vampire show" come on girl, put some respek on that name lol
This is how i learned that michelle is no longer wtf

Elliot would have been soooo good. love him.
Also there is something really funny about a property this mormon having the leading actor be trans
Anna Paquin would have done a great job.
Ellie page would have been great as Bella
I think it would've been super interesting to see Lily Collins play bella, just because I had a whole Mortal Instruments thing back then

Sky High is a cinematic masterpiece and I won't have a bad word said about it 😂
I don’t know I think Kristen Stewart was perfect as Bella for me, but Elliot would have been flawless too.
Omg I first read "let's talk about why Stephanie Meyer wanted to play Bella" and I was like, it's her self-insert, duh
Ellen Page all day!
