    1. Charles Read is a paraplegic man who has been wheelchair-bound for roughly twenty-five years due to a spinal cord injury that left him unable to stand or walk. In early 2025, a woman in College Park, Georgia reported that a man had kicked in her door, entered her residence, assaulted her, and then ran away on foot. Based on her complaint, a warrant was later issued naming Read as the suspect.

Read reportedly became aware of the warrant during a background check related to a passport matter. Instead of avoiding authorities, he voluntarily went to the College Park Police Department to address the issue. When he arrived, officers confirmed the active warrant and placed him under arrest. Body-camera footage shows officers reading him his rights and handcuffing him while he remained seated in his wheelchair. During the process, he expresses confusion and disbelief over the accusations. At one point in the video, he falls or is tipped from his wheelchair while officers continue the arrest procedure.

The central controversy stems from the nature of the allegations. The complaint stated that the suspect kicked down a door and fled on foot. Because Read has been paraplegic for decades and cannot stand or walk, many observers quickly questioned the plausibility of the accusation. Critics argued that basic investigative steps should have revealed the physical impossibility of the claim before a warrant was issued or executed. The fact that he presented himself voluntarily at the police department further fueled public skepticism.

After the body-camera footage circulated online, the case drew national attention. Viewers criticized the handling of the arrest and questioned how a warrant could have been approved without reconciling the alleged actions with Read’s well-documented physical condition. Civil rights advocates pointed to the incident as an example of potential investigative failure and procedural oversight.

Under growing public scrutiny, the charges against Read were reportedly dropped. Discussions emerged about the possibility of civil legal action and broader concerns about how warrants are issued and verified. The case sparked debate about due diligence in criminal investigations, the treatment of disabled individuals within the justice system, and the safeguards meant to prevent clearly implausible accusations from advancing to arrest.

    2. then it was determined that she was indeed lying – that he was a guy she dated bright from years ago that broke it off with her – so she just decided to randomly make his life miserable. the whole thing is weird – because don't you need evidence before you just arrest someone??

    3. What’s crazy is if tht BEAN head ahh officer met with the guy today, he wouldn’t even apologize. The first words out of his mouth would be “ah man, you know nowadays everyone lies to LEOs” and move on like he didn’t just fuck this guy’s day up.

    4. Why isn’t she in jail? How in the world could this man have kicked a door end obviously somebody’s lying so put them both in jail and see what happens. Not in the same cell but certainly start investigating you. Stupid police.

    5. Women like that need to fucking face time bro what in the actual fuck if he was found guilty of that it would ruin him. And she can walk free. Women like this lying about guys in this way should face years.

    6. America is country by bring havoc to other people country, and they grow to be one of richest country by bavoc and now they living in paranoia of they own fault, the citizens clearly been gibin to much freedom that looks like a faked freedom, just to hurt one another… Thats sad the american dream is capitalise by fear and riba'

    7. I hope the best civil rights attorneys get involved with this and sue that place just they don’t exist anymore. That police department accepted for this black police officer. Everybody else needs to be fired because this officer recognizes this guy didn’t kick the door in. This is insane. Our country is falling apart.

    8. I extremely dislike this guy. I don’t agree with a lot of things. The US has done, but this guy is the negativity of negative. I don’t I don’t even have words for this piece of squeeze.

    9. Not one thing he did in the entire video would’ve made me think he’s trying to get out of jail. That was genuine confusion bro

    10. The officer behind the desk is complete asshat, and the fact that a judge issued a warrant without the facts on the gentleman's condition that is also bulshit

    11. My buddy's ex got mad at him for buying a pair of shoes because he had bought a pair a year earlier. She said she doesn't go through shoes as fast as he does. She's been in a wheelchair for almost 20 years. 😂

    12. I like how the cop behind a desk, not even seeing the guy, just knows he's faking being paralyzed.
I guess he knows cuz he obviously paralyzed himself behind a desk not checking it out.

    13. Very sad, after dealing with the court system recently all they want is someone to take the fall? They will let the courts figure it out. In this case they had no grounds.! but like I said, they just wanna fall guy someone that will take a plea and let them make their money!

    14. Fact: he's not a quadriplegic. He may be a paraplegic, but the way his legs are moving and his tone when he's falling are very suspect.
